I recommend this write-up by @wakeupkitty. It tells of a child constantly flogged by the parents with different tools. The child is now confused. He doesn't know if these are acts of love and correction or acts of wickedness. This used to be me some years back. Sometimes when I'm flogged by my dad, I felt as though my dad hated me. Sometimes I would even think that he's not my father. But in the long run I realised that they were acts of love. But the issue is that some parents usually go overboard in their discipline pattern and this makes the child to stop seeing it as an act of love but rather an act wickedness. This could make them grow apart.

Thank you for recommending my freewrite and sharing your view/experiences.
In this case it was not about love but childabuse. Parents who never wanted a child and punished it for no reason in every way they could think of.
If you ask me punishments have no effect if a child doesn't understand why it's beaten up, dragged out of bed in the middle of the night.

Oh my! I sorry that any child has to go through such psychological, emotional and physical abuse. Child abuse is really a menace to our society as this leaves a long lasting negative impression on some people.

It is everywhere. CPS doesn't exist for no reason but interesting is they rarely show up at the homes of the worst cases. Children arebeaten to death, locked up in closets without food, air, daylight. Everyone knows it happens but no one believes them or recognizes the signs.
During the lockdown childabuse increased with nearly 40% and this is alarming. So is the lack of help.

It's really disheartening. During the lockdown in my country, there were so many cases of child abuse particularly child rape. It's really depressing that the government has refused to stomp their feet hard on the perpetrators of this heinous crimes. But we individually must still do our part by reporting suspected cases of child abuse.

So with you it's not different than overhere. This really should be fought. Those lockdowns harm more than that virus does. Nations of harmed people are created. No vaccine or lockdown can cure that. Worst is the hospitals stay closed for everyone. You need to have covid-19 or be a vip to get inside.

My favourite Freewrite for this week The Unforgiving by @ezun1!😍

The writer is so creative that he won my heart as I was reading and was thinking about my life too🤩. His last lines hit hard....I quote;

As days went by,
Situations were the same,
Who then shall save me from this self imprisonment?
Who else could save me but myself?
A prisoner in his self made prison.-@ezun1

I feel the writer is talking to the unforgiving hearts. He thought his time to narrate how it is when we are unforgiving; just as the last line says; "a prisoner in his self made prison". Why should we bother our own self carrying people in our hearts in the name of "not going to forgive him"?

Let us learn to forgive and free ourselves from self made prisons!
