The Hidden Power of Commenting: My Journey Through Task 1

in Freewriters2 months ago
Introduction

For a lot of people, especially newbies, comment might seem like a waste of time or they might pay less attention to it but they are unaware of the large value it holds for them and for the community at large. Commenting is one of the easiest way to make a breakthrough on Steemit because it’s the only way to build bridges and create connections with one another.

In the next couple of minutes, I will be sharing my experience of how my comments section went in “task 1” and I will be inviting my panel of judges to the high table… @wakeupkitty @yancar @inspiracion @solperez

Was it hard??

When I saw the task 1 challenge, I was excited about it. In fact, I saw it as a medium of making new friends and getting to meet new people. Commenting on post is something I do regularly, so, I actually saw task 1 as a cheap point for me until I visited the CCS community.

I was faced with challenges of looking at architectural images , landscape images, macro images and a lot more. No doubt, the images were beautiful but the challenge was how to relate with it because the write up in those categories were somehow scanty.

So, I had to start going for the ones that wrote a lot about their photographs and it made it easy to relate with them through the comment section.

what went well ?

On a normal day, I’ve particular people’s post I read because I enjoy it all the time but something happened. The “task 1” challenge took me to communities that i rarely pay visit to and i am really glad for that exposure because as a result of that, I met a new kid @jinsu-ishan and He’s a sculptor. This is actually something new that is been introduced to steemit. You guys should keep a close eye on him, I believe he’ll do really well.

I also got the opportunity of making a new friend from the CCS community. In a week time Kirov will be celebrating their 650th anniversary. This is something I never would have found out if it wasn’t for him.

Unfortunately, it was a sad day for the Italian football team, yesterday. They lost one of their legendary football player Schillaci. I got the information going through @frafiomatale post in Italian community. His post is more on Italian football sports and I’m glad that I now have a post to visit to get updates about Italian football news.

Did you receive an answer?

Yeah. I got couple of answers. I actually felt happy to know that my comment was been replied to because that’s the only way I could connect with them and building a relationship. Some went as far as upvoting my comment and it felt good!

Now that I have met some few people in that community, I’ll visit their blog from time to time to build a relationship with them…

Thanks for visiting my blog, i really appreciate.

@sbamsoneu, I am very happy to read this comment, this reciprocity that is so important to grow in Steemit. Wise decision to want to interact with other users.

My advice with love, do not be limited by the language barrier, there is the translator, do not get discouraged if you find someone on the road that does not match your enthusiasm, just continue, there are many users who do value it.

I love that you have made friends, remember that that vote, that comment is always pleasant and adds up, many times we are not visible but the support of other users fills us with optimism, they do not leave us zero content and give us resteem if they consider it.

Whenever I receive that reciprocity I will share it, don't doubt it, suddenly I will be a little late but I will always do it. A hug, see you soon.

What can I add to what you wrote? Nothing. It was enjoyable and refreshing to read you. It's good to hear you liked visiting communities you have never been to before and that bonus point? I give it because of the sculptor.

I learned a lot by reading your post. Especially how to respond to the @wewrite tasks. The tendency seems to be to check out in the fast lane, stop by for fast food, and travel in the fast lane. But here on Steemit we have the opportunity to slow it down and delve deep into details. Like in your post. Nice details. Thank you.
