Facinating entertainment

I started reading it again (yesterday) and I can't stop laughing. It's a fascinating diary about life in an elderly home and it already starts well (January 1st) when Hendrink writes: Also in this year I won't like the elderly...

The life of Hendrik Groen is brightened up by his friend Evert and Evert reminds me of the cartoon figure "Opa" (cartoonist Eddy Ryssack - publisher Oberon). These comics are based on life in an elderly home as well and what this comic just like the diaries of Hendrik has in common is a director who doesn't seem to care too much about the elderly. Now I mention the elderly. Did you watch the film: The 100-year-old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared? (see the video). Another example of an elderly who is far of boring and wants to make something out of his life unlike many of us who are way younger. Isn't that fascinating? Can it be character or does it help if you know you have nothing to lose?
