Writing course / Curso de escritura #wewrite - L6
Are you new? We-Write is a writing course of a Steemit Teaching Team not a stand-alone contest. Please, read Lesson 1 to 5 before you join.
Lesson 6, the last lesson of this #wewrite course, is about poetry. Boring to read? Hard to understand? Fun to write and good for a laugh? Let's try and figure it out.
"There are many types of poem in the world, and even one particular verse form can be written in a variety of ways: to take just one example, there is the sonnet, but there are Petrarchan sonnets and Shakespearean sonnets and Spenserian sonnets, all of them requiring a rather different rhyme scheme".source/info
P.s. If you find it hard to find a topic to write about you can use a (picture) prompt to build your poem (think of the Art & Writing contest hosted by @solperez, #pic1000 by @freewritehouse or Create an Image by @italygame (see Digitaly magazine for the prompt) which we practised in former lessons.
Note
If we have the slightest idea you used AI to generate your poem your entry isn't valid.
Task 1 - Acrostic poem
The acrostic poem or name poem is about puzzling/writing around a word or phrase.
If you read the first letter of each sentence, you will find the word or message.

Did you finish Task 1?!
Task 2 - The Lyric
This poem has no specific form and expresses thoughts and feelings of a speaker. A story, moral or lesson is not given.
Sappho is the pioneer and ancient Greek love poet. She wrote short poems expressing her feelings of longing, love, regret, heartbreak and more (see wewrite01 where we talked about feelings).

Did you finish Task 1 + 2?!
Task 3 - The Limerick
• A five-line poem in English
• Rhyme: 1st, 2nd and last line rhyme (A)
• Option: line 3 + 4 rhyme (B)
• The humour builds up to the last line
The earliest limericks date back to the Middle Ages. They are (very) funny and can demonstrate a control of verse form and language. It's said to be the (only) "English" poetry form (Limerick is a place in Ireland).

Ha!

Exactly, humans have a sense that computers don't have. Computers (robots) may excel in many things, but as an author - I forget his name - said in a computer book I once read in the 90s, "Computers may be smart, but they are not wise."
If we want to talk further about secret messages, I really admire the Enigma technology that NAZI Germany had in World War II. I admire the technology, not anything else. However, war is a painful fact.
Sorry it has gone out of topic. You see my mind is an untamed wild beast sometimes I myself am afraid of.
War and fear are both powers that make people do incredible things and inventions.
If it comes to the second world war we all benefit and suffer (medical treatments) till today what was tested in concentration camps (let's not forget the Japanese, interesting no one speaks about what they did and the cheering is for them).
By the way all those high ranked nazis ended up on high ranked jobs in the USA. Isn't that interesting?
They must have had a secret language to communicate in time. 🤔
Nothing wrong with your mind. You can talk about what you like.

This lesson effectively combines the technical aspects of poetry with opportunities for personal expression and community engagement. The guidelines are clear and encourage creativity while maintaining a focus on original work.
@yid is it long ago I read a comment like yours. Can you explain to me who taught you that telling in short what is written makes a good comment?
Welcome to Steemit. I hope you join.

For sure a way can be found and if it comes to these 3 the basic principle is good enough to start with. So far everyone kept surprising me and most are way better than they believe.
For sure you come with something unique. Enjoy the challenge!

Saludos, amigas...
