#Club5050 | Two Inspiring Women, My Steemit Buddies

I have been on Steemit since October 2017. I started my writing journey to earn and then attend the concert of my favorite Japanese band, One OK Rock. I was desperate even more since I wanted to go with my sister @goiinmary.

My sister has a virtual friend who is also a fan of One OK Rock. She was the one who told my sister about the blogging platform. My sister is not into writing, so she relayed the site to me. I was still busy since I had a full-time job and two part-time jobs, so I didn't register right away.

A month had passed, and my friend @deeday31, whom I had told about the blogging platform, messaged me that she had already withdrawn $25. That's when I remembered the platform.

The said platform had a page that showed the top 20 best writers, and the number one is a Filipina, that is @junebride. I also saw my sister's friend on the list. The top 20 was full of Filipinos. I followed them all and tried reading their blogs, so I have an outlook on how to write well.

I remember my friend, @deeday31, and I kept saying how good Jean was in writing and photography. Since I was a silent reader of Jean's blog, I bumped into her conversation with the fellow Filipino, @g10a and sir @long888. The keywords were 'earn' and 'blogging', and my eyes sparkled. I immediately signed up together with my friend. I didn't have a piece of knowledge of cryptocurrency before. I focused on writing and earning.

Since I don't have a photo with Jean, I attached the first-ever Calligraphy workshop photo I attended. I was inspired by Jean to try calligraphy, especially the dip-pen calligraphy.

As mentioned, I was a silent reader of Jean's blog. But when I became a Steemian, I decided to start engaging everyone. I joined a group, Steemit Achievers, wherein Jean was one of the moderators.

So when I went to Cebu for a dance competition, Jean reached out to have a brief meet-up with me and my co-dancers. It was my first time meeting a virtual friend. We had a group picture, and Jean was well-prepared that she gave us a piece of paper to write our Steemit usernames.

Because of Jean also, I became in love with Calligraphy and bullet journaling, as well. I was a little bit fearless that I messaged her about the materials and such. Then I tried joining a hand lettering contest hosted by one of the members of Steemit Achievers. I was inspired by Jean's artwork and decided to join.

Aside from that, her photos are a sweet treat to my eyes. With that, I decided to know more about photography and photo editing. Since then, we've been communicating and commenting on each other's posts. We also became friends on our social media accounts.

Through Steemit, I became friends with the woman I looked up to on the Leaderboards of the previous blogging platform. Until now, I have always looked up to her photos and blogs. I'm looking forward to seeing her do calligraphy again.

You can say I'm a fan. Hehe. When it comes to writing, calligraphy, photography, travels, and multitasking, it's Jean who always appears in my mind. Hence the reason that when I read the contest post, Jean's name immediately popped up.

I painted this when I was still exploring watercolor painting. I am into portrait watercolor and at that time, it was Auntie Olivia's birthday. I actually didn't give the digital copy of this since I'm not satisfied with the eyes and nose. When I did the quick sketch of this, it looked like her, but in the painting, it's not. However, I decided to attach this instead because I don't have a photo with Auntie.

The next one is Auntie @olivia08. The crypto blogging world knows me as Kneelyrac or Caryl. But for Auntie Olivia, it is Keen - that's my second name. Only my family and neighbors call me that. I was completely shocked when she called me that. Little did I know, she is a good friend of my Auntie, a cousin of my mother.

Auntie Deevie and I haven't met. But whenever we talked on Messenger, it felt like she's really my Aunt. I am one of the Steemians who was on a hiatus for years. I was busy with work and review, but when the pandemic happened, Auntie Deevie reached out to me. She messaged me to come back in writing again.

At that time, I was not in good shape. I was demotivated because of the hype of getting my license to an immediate downfall because of COVID. But Auntie didn't give up on encouraging me. If I am not mistaken, it took her a week or two to make me say yes. I was moping around and anxious because of the pandemic, so I decided to divert my attention to writing.

That was when the time I joined the Diary Game Season II, and it was fun. I had a great time doing a diary blog. Until now, remembering all the things I did just to have something to write makes me giggle. Through Auntie Deevie, I was able to connect and make friends with other Steemians, who are still active.

Moreover, I thank Steemit for giving me a chance to know these two amazing women who inspire me in every possible way. They encourage me to write better and do better.

Inviting my friends to join in this contest, too: @loloy2020, @long888, & @olivia08.
