Hello steemians

Let's Join in Protecting Our Environment

Welcome to meet again steemians friends wherever you are, follow Health protocols, stay safe and don't forget to give alms.....!!!

All steemians friends, I am very happy to be able to join this steem-environment community. Although this community is still new with limited members and active posters. But I think that a community is formed with a specific purpose and each community has its own vision and mission. Regarding the payout of a steemians, it is a common thing because everyone certainly hopes that they will produce something from their activities. But not always the feeling of happiness and satisfaction is only in the form of material (reward). The inner satisfaction we get when we can be useful to others and the environment around us, may make us happier. As social beings, we definitely want our existence to be recognized by our environment and that is obtained from our contribution and benefit to a community on any scale (village, sub-district, etc.). Usually, a community is established and supported by people who have the same vision and several other factors such as hobbies, character and so on. Related to the theme promoted by this community, I think that this environmental issue is very urgent, although perhaps many are not concerned due to several factors. As people with common sense, we should take a role in saving the environment according to our respective conditions and abilities.

Our active role can be started from small and simple things in our daily lives. For example, we cultivate an environmentally friendly lifestyle by reducing the use of materials that cannot be decomposed, such as plastic waste and others. We can start using eco-friendly bags that are sold in the markets.

We can also get used to managing waste properly by not littering or processing waste to be more useful. Garbage can be processed into organic fertilizer, while waste such as plastic can be processed into handicrafts, karbol or pavin blocks as has been done in Seunuddon District by creating a Pelangi Garbage Bank where the manager cites the collected garbage by the surrounding community and the community are given wages which are recorded in their respective waste account books which can be disbursed. Unfortunately, the activity was stopped because the owner of the business moved his domicile to another district.

Another effort that we can do in protecting the environment is to cultivate and develop our hobby of "planting". Planting here is in a broad sense. We can plant productive plants such as farming or gardening or just a hobby of planting flowers in our yard.

Personally, I am very happy to plant various plants in my house, which happens to have a problem, which is very prone to flooding, so I am not free to plant them. I was forced to be selective in doing these activities, especially since I also experienced other obstacles, namely the limited time I had because I was an ASN. I have grown vegetables such as spinach, kale and Pakchoy mustard using various media or methods. I've used simple hydroponic methods, aquaponic methods and conventional methods using soil media. I'm currently sowing the mustard greens which I plan to plant in a container that I made from used car tires and also used aqua bottles to form a vertical garden.

I'm also trying to plant several types of trees and plants that can be consumed as medicine. Currently I have planted several bidara trees (Ziziphus mauritiana) which are very useful for health. The bidara tree has properties such as curing diabetes, Natural Protection from the Bad Effects of the Sun, relieving fever, lowering cholesterol, natural wound healing, launching the digestive system, overcoming stomach disorders, treating hemorrhoids and others. I often consume this bidara fruit which tastes similar to the taste of poor apples or make bidara tea using the dried bidara leaves.

Currently I am also planting a rubber fig (Ficus elastic) as a protective plant in my yard. Apart from being a house ornamental plant, rubber fig tree also has benefits for reducing allergies, treating swelling, reducing pain, maintaining a healthy stomach, eliminating air pollution, eliminating bacteria. The cost to enlarge it is relatively cheap and maintenance is simple. The leaves are easy to clean and give a tropical feel to our homes.

Because this tree is very easy to grow, so it can be an option as a protective plant or can be planted in a pot as an ornamental plant. In my house this tree is big enough, and I have to cut some of the branches and then the shoots will grow back.

In conclusion, we can participate in protecting our environment in various ways, from small things to a larger scale. By planting trees, we can help create fresher air, maintain mental health, reduce UV exposure to the skin, reduce the impact of climate change, prevent water pollution, increase ground water reserves, maintain the population of living things, prevent flooding, prevent soil erosion and can reduce the risk of flooding, save energy by reducing the use of air conditioning because there is enough fresh air available.

That's my post this time, thanks to @saifuddin73 as admin and initiator, @thegreens and @arul.ellyazhar as admin, @palang @nasrud @emirzafirdaus and @samsol003 as moderator community and all friends who have accepted me in this community. Hopefully we can share experiences and knowledge with each other and participate in activities to protect our environment.

Great post bro, we really like your statement about income, hobbies and care. the content of the post is also very good, we just found out that in Suenuddon District there was once a waste bank, hopefully this can be developed again. Later, when our community has enough funds, we will make this waste bank project grow again.

Thank you for sharing, we are very happy.

I have a suggestion what if this waste bank project is seriously realized? this can be a lever to advance this community. You can try to make a proposal to the steemit team for the realization of this project because to my knowledge, the steemit team is committed to environmental issues and climate change. For example, the world smile or steem.amal projects can be used as a reference by collecting donations or sharing rewards by creating special tags. I think if it is managed properly, transparently and accountably, it will get the support of many parties. I also see that so far there have even been personal projects such as steem coffee and others getting support from the steemit team which of course includes a steem promo load in it ...

Let's talk seriously, maybe we can have a meetup sometime.
