Hello friends

Today I want to tell you about a town that I had the good fortune to visit just recently which is located in the province of Treviso and is called Roncade
This town is located about 20 km north-east of Treviso, about 30 km from the most famous is known in Venice.
It is not so big as a town. In fact, it does not even have 15,000 inhabitants, but I was there on Sunday because on 19 March there is a large craft fair with exhibitions and games, an event that has practically been repeated since 1800.

This area is crossed by the river Sile and surrounded by a landscape typical of the Veneto plain with typical fields cultivated with vineyards and in the hilly part with lots of woods.

I visited practically only the part of the historic centre of Roncade that is characterised by the presence of an imposing castle that was built in the 1500s, and I noticed that unfortunately the castle is currently a private residence and apparently cannot be visited by the public, but I am not fully sure, perhaps it is possible to visit it on the occasion of some events that take place every so often during the year.

I took some quick photos especially of the part of the Walls and of course all surrounded by this river which also served to defend this settlement, I also had the chance to capture some nice ducks that were swimming nearby and were looking for food.
In this place I saw that Roncade is also famous for the production of fine wines In fact there are many wine cellars in the area.

In fact I noticed along the road leading to the centre that there were antique bicycles on display in front of the shops which were probably used in the 1800s and you could even ride on them to try them out of course they were not really original but they were reconstructions of original bicycles from the past.

During my walk I also managed to take a photo of the Roncade parish church, which is located right next to the castle, and as far as I understand it, this religious complex is of Renaissance origin and was, let's say, included in the castle complex. I am only sorry that in my haste I could not go inside because some people who live nearby had also advised me to visit it.

This will surely be the reason to come back here to Roncade, also because when you return to places you have already visited, you always manage to discover something new to visit.

I hope you have enjoyed this rather short post of mine, I will certainly see you at the next one wishing you a good evening and much serenity in our lives.
