Power supplies

Assalamualaikum steemians

How are you?Hope so everyone would be safe and sound just like me as I am also safe Alhamdulillah....

Power supplies is my today's topic to share with you all so I would like to delve into its common major aspects!

If I talk about power supplies then these are most essential component of electronic devices which are used to provide significant amount of power to the devices for their functioning. These are are used for converting alternating current power to direct current power which is utilised by components of device. There are different shapes and capabilities in which power supply are available and it all depends upon a particular device power needs.

If i talk about different types of power supplies then these are linear power supplies, switching power supply as well as uninterruptible power supply. If I talk about linear power supply then these utilizes linear regulator for the purpose of converting alternating current to direct current power but meanwhile switching power supplies are those which use switch regulator for achieving greater efficiency. These are UPS systems which are used for providing backup power during outages which gives surety of continuous operation.

If I talk about furthermore about power supply components then there are diverse range of components it have in which first of all there is transformer, then rectifier, filter, regulator and output connectors are present. As a first most important component transformer is used for stepping down alternating current voltage to lower level and then rectifier is used for conversion of alternating current voltage to direct current voltage.Filter is another component have its function to smoothens any voltage fluctuations if these are present.A stable output voltage is then make sure by regulator.

If I talk about efficiency of power supply then it is measured by power factor and efficiency rating. If I talk about higher efficiency power supply then these are used for reduction of energy waste and for minimization of heat generation. Wattage ,voltage and current ratings are power supply ratings which always should match with the requirements of device.

There are different form factors in which power supply comes and these are ATX,micro ATX and mini ITX and small form factors. If I talk about ATX power suppliers then most commonly these are utilised in desktop computer but micro ATX and mini ATX are those power suppliers which are useful for smaller system.

If I talk about connected than cablings of power suppliers then these have multiple connecters which include SATA,Molex as well as PCIe connectors. If I talk about SATA connectors then these are power hard drives and Molex connectors are used for powering old devices.PCIe connectors are used for powering up GPU or other devices which consume high power.

They are different precautionary features that power supply have in which first of all there is over voltage protection. Secondly there are under voltage protection as well as short circuit protection also present and all these are features present for prevention of damage to device and for ensuring safety of users.

If I talk about little challenges of using power supplies then they can generate noise and interference which can effect overall efficiency and performance of device. By the use of method of filtering and shielding electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference can be eliminated.

According to my research as the field of technology is advancing day by day that's why increasing more efficiency we can make more suitable power supply and grow in this field. So that was all about today's topic! Don't forget to share your feedback!

Thanks
