Spiny puffballs

in Fungi Lovers5 years ago

Lycoperdon echinatum, commonly known as the spiny puffball, is a species of mushroom that occurs all over the world.

It has the curious aspect of an inflated and spiny balloon!

This two specimens were photographed inside a pine forest near Borba (Alentejo region, southern Portugal).
