Weekly Curation Report by Team 4: X-Women- Third Week June 2024

I am happy to report that we have burned hundreds of calories this week —content-lifting is heavy work. 🦾😀

It's easy to lift content that's already climbing high but to filter hidden gems takes endless scrolls. There's no shortage of good content but I have observed that authors make it difficult for their content to be found. This point has been repeatedly highlighted but the general trend is still the same: tags are not being used wisely.

first two tags should always be related to the content—a 'general tag' and a more 'specific tag.' It doesn't need explanation but content-related tags narrow down the search. If someone writes a travel blog and instead of using #travel, they add the diary game, betterlife, clubxx, and burnsteem25, then their post is most likely to get lost in the sea of posts that use these same generic tags.

There are hundreds of posts coming in every day. One can't expect the curators to click open and read every single post. What we can do is use relevant tags and write catchy but relevant titles. This will guarantee more visits.

There's one more point, although not new, that needs to be raised again: authors cannot expect to get support when they don't support their fellows. One can't dump content and disappear and then complain that they don't get upvotes. I have come across some really talented authors but they are only dumping. We are encouraging them to participate more in the community. (:

Stats of Curation

Coming back to the 3rd week of curation, it was an exemplary one in terms of teamwork. Two of us had personal commitments but we managed to seamlessly pull off the curation by a little rescheduling. I am grateful to my incredible teammates.
