Week 12

Greetings!

I am so happy! Not only have I fully recovered, but I also received my 5th dolphin this week.

Despite being sick for nearly two weeks and nearly landing up in the hospital, I am proud to say that I fulfilled my duty as STEEM Representative during this period. Not one day was missed.

A big THANK YOU for all the support!

Details of contests

Contest 1

Link to contest

This week was No. #48 of this weekly contest.

The focus was on the word "JACKKNIVES" teaching Steemians about the two different meanings of this word.

"I spy with my little eye" is a thinking game that grows the reasoning and vocabulary of Steemians.

This week, we had a winner.

Total of prizes given away for this contest:

8 STEEM

Contest 2

Link to contest

The main aim of this contest is to get Steemians to increase the word count and quality of their posts.

This week, only six entries were received. What was enjoyable was the increase in the word count to 500 words. It is clear that Steemians can be good content writers. Sometimes they just need to be pushed a bit.

Total of prizes given away for week 9:

15 STEEM

23 STEEM in total for the week.

Events or other activities

Steem For Ladies

I am still very active in the Steem For Ladies community.

Most of my work in the community was dedicated to;

  1. Curation and verification of posts
  2. Educating and monitoring the 4 moderators
  3. Validating MOD verifications
  4. Verifying new members
  5. Booming posts and community voting
  6. Writing two community posts
  7. Lending a helping hand to members of the community

That’s right, there are now four moderators in this community I am teaching and guiding.

Education

Moderator training program:

It is going well with the training program, and it can be made available to any of the communities that are interested.

Support of fellow Steemians

General:

The support for my fellow Steemians continued. The main support outside the platform was via WhatsApp, Discord and telephone calls.

Africa:

First it was the flu, and last week I was down with mumps. Getting mumps at my age is not a joke. Like I’ve said to a Steemian, I am now ready to rock ‘n roll.

I joined the two-year celebration of Steem Kids & Parents via Discord. It was so nice to see everybody and also listen to them. Well done to this community!

I’ve also joined two new support groups from Africa, in which I will be sharing advice and answering questions.

Education:

There was no educational post this week.

Issues encountered

Booming vote!

I want to highlight the fact that receiving a booming vote is a privilege, not a must. It is also there to lend a helping hand to those Steemians who deliver good quality posts that need support. It is therefore important that the booming vote be distributed in a fair and even manner.

Booming votes are not possible for all posts, and Steemians can only receive 2-3 booming votes in a specific week (Monday to Sunday) in total across the Steemit platform.

If you jump from community to community to receive booming votes, you are going to get caught, as each day we get the names of those Steemians who have received 2 votes or more and we can compare them with the previous week.

Write because you enjoy it, not because you want to be rewarded.

For those who don’t know, there is a nice tool available to track your booming votes. You will find it at https://steemseven.com/seven/ under "Tools." Click on the bar next to "Previous booming votes" to see the dates and posts on which you have received votes.

This is where I am ending my week.

Don’t be shy! If you have a question or need advice, just ask.
