Educational management is really important and today I am very happy to take part in this engagement challenge and happy to share a real case with you all about educational management.
Case: Implementation of digital attendance system in a government school
This is my personal experience that around three years ago there was a local high school which have faced different challenges related traditional paper based attendance tracking so there were many attendance preciseness issues and wasted class time.
For addressing these type of issues that government school tried to implement digital attendance system by the use of mobile app and QR codes.After that teachers started scanning students QR codes for marking attendance and then data was automatically synced into that school database.
After implementation of that system it improved overall preciseness, it helps in reduction of time that were spent on attendance and it helped in enabling real time tracking of student attendance. That management in education system of a government school were useful data for identification of attendance patterns and for providing targeted support to students that have low attendance.
There were some managing problems which occurred in government school traditional attendance system that I am describing here.
- There was a kind of inaccuracy and less preciseness in recording of attendance that could be most probably because of handwriting or calculation mistakes.
- There was a big level of inefficiency which wasted class time that were spent at manual attendance tracking.
- There was a level of delayed approach in attendance data which makes it tough for identification of patterns or issues.
- There was a kind of inability as well in truly analyzing attendance data for identifying trends or areas needed for improvement.
- It was tough to identify students which are with poor attendance which was restricting targeted support and further more interventions.
The managerial problems in that government school attendance system could be observed by education management functions:
- Insufficient planning and implementing of attendance system which were leading to more inefficiencies.
- There was very poor organization of attendance information and lack of clear distinctions and responsibilities which were a major leading cause of errors.
- There was not much adequate training and support for staff which was using attendance system so it leads to mistakes.
- There was a lack of clear communication and supervision that leads to a final inconsistent attendance tracking.
- There was less effective analyzation and evaluation of attendance information which restricts identification of issues and areas for improvement.
- There was less adequate allocation of resources for implementation of modern attendance system.
There are many right solution for this problem for implementation of a digital attendance system which are;
- Automation of attendance tracking by the use of QR codes or biometric scanners.
- Availability of real-time data and analyzation of teachers and administrators.
- Offering of mobile approachability for easiest tracking and monitoring.
- It includes automated reminders and notifications for students and parents
- Helpful in integration with existing student data systems.
- Helpful in providing training and support for staff for ensuring most effective use.
- Regular monitoring and evaluation of system for identification of areas for improvement.
These are some of the solutions which are addressing managerial problems which enhances efficiency and providing precise and timely attendance information for supporting student success.
At my stepson's previous school, they had an ID card, which they had to put into a scanner when they got to their registration class in the morning.
The biggest problem was that the learners often forgot their cards at home or lost them.
In the end, they went back to the old way of the teacher reading the names from her register and then marking them.
I am sure that in the near future we might even see chips being inplanted and used for things like this. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Kasusnya hampir sama dengan di sekolah saya, kami para guru seluruh indonesia wajib melakukan absen digital, namun karena hampir semua guru melakukan absen di waktu bersamaan maka server di pusat kadang-kadang down dan terjadi kesalahan teknis... Dan yang di rugikan adalah guru, guru dianggap tidak hadir, atau terlambat. Padahal kerusakan terjadi pada server mereka. Akhirnya uang intensif kami di potong..🥴
Suatu kemajuan bagi sekolah yang mampu menerapkan absen digital. Di sekolah saya, para siswa tidak boleh membawa HP. Absen bagi guru dan tenaga administrasi yang menggunakan fingerprint. Itu pun belum maksimal kecuali ada sanksi dari pemerintah pusat terkait kedisiplinan.
solusi yang sangat tepat, untuk menghindari keterlambatan dan pengurangan waktu dalam pembelajaran maka di adakan absensi digital.
