SEC-S19W6 | Digital Applications in Learning

in Teachers & Students3 months ago

I am currently writing a project as a chemistry student in the faculty of education, education, and I have seen problems faced by teachers and students when it comes to teaching and learning, learning, respectively, respectively, and I must say that the initiation of technological features will play an important role here, here, but the issue here is access.

How many can gain access to all these facilities? This is not free; education is not free, not at all. To have access to these advanced technological tools that will enhance your learning as a student and teaching as a teacher, teacher, you will need to meet the demands, demands, which could be purchasing an advanced version of these tools or getting a better device, and to the most students, this is substantial and beneficial.

Just like we want the enhancement of education quality, we must also be ready to follow the trends of its enhancement by developers. The developers may require an upgrade to access all features, and we must be ready. Most of it is free, but for some, like Canva, this write-up will reveal a little secret.

How do you see such technological developments affecting the future of education?

In general, the process of educating an individual or learning will be easy, one that will be stress-free, save cost on some parts and be more effective. Let me start by picking the Zoom app as a case study, then Canva.

ZOOM

source

I have a good user experience with Zoom, though the first time I tried it was not on the educational count, but it went well. Zoom can connect many people as needed for a meeting, and anyone can access it via the shared link or through Zoom ID; one without this ID cannot join, so in this case the teacher willing to host a class can share this link among their students to join.

Zoom: Participant List 📃

A student who may try skipping class lectures can send a message across that he wants the class to be in full attendance, and how can this be made possible? Zoom has a feature known as a participant list, and this list keeps track of the number of participants in a meeting, it can pick another person as the host; this person may be the class rep, and this class rep will be the one writing or copying out the name to keep track of them. Another feature is the analytics, which may enable the lecturer to keep track of those who attended to the end.

Zoom: Raise to speak📢

A student may be picked to ask a question by clicking the raise to speak button and may give a suggestion, which will pop up on everyone's screen, and the host (the teacher) may consider the suggestion.

The evaluation of students could be made simple with this app; the teacher may decide to pick a student to make his video magnify as if he is the host, then ask them to answer a particular question to see if the concept was understood.

CANVA

Canva Team👩‍👩‍👦‍👦

Have you heard of the Canva team? A Canva Pro subscription may seem costly, but it isn't. With the Canva team, you can access Canva easily. I think most people are unaware of this, so let's leave the aspect of designing and speak of accessing the pro version of Canva, which contains bountiful features.

Canva Pro Version💎

Now with just an email address, a single Canva Pro version can be connected with as many devices as possible (you should know how this is done), and for the Canva team, it provides access to the pro version to as many as 1000 people or even more at a time. Why I spoke of the connection of Canva to different devices because a teacher or a group of students can decide to pay for a pro version and then connect it to their devices instead of an individual subscription, which will cost much as per person.

Can the Steemit platform be used as a learning application? Explain your opinion.

Yes, Steemit can be used as a learning application if we have a teacher here who decides to explain a concept for clarity (concepts like electricity, coding, etc., like what is done in most of our engagement challenges). The Steemit platform can play videos directly from YouTube through the technology tube, so links can be pasted here with a write-up analyzing this concept step by step.

Do you think the use of digital applications can replace face-to-face learning completely?

It cannot completely replace face-to-face learning because some concepts may need a personal, individual experience with the teacher to bring it to the learners' understanding. Taking some experiments and surgical operations into consideration, this involves clear practical aspects that can only be done by another person in practice.

Entries from @whizzbro4eva, @alegnita, and @patjewell would be fun reading too.

Well, I signed up for Canva Pro, and it is the best next thing after sliced bread. I've used it for so many things.
Not only has it made my life easier, but it is also so convenient. What I love most of all is sharing the link to the creation with someone else.

Technology, in and out of the classroom, is a must! My stepson uses this for his projects. He will create it on Canva and send the link to his teacher. His task is now paperless, which is awesome!

Good luck with the contest, and thank you for the invitation. I've dropped an entry.

I love paperless work it serves the stress of coming up with something too bulky, portable but space-accumulating, that can be soaked if encountered by heavy rain.
The issue with me is that it keeps on expiring without me utilizing most of it. Thank you so much, have you tried the Canva team subscription that's cheaper than subscribing yourself? Almost all fliers are made by it today, thank for your comment ma, it's very amusing🤣

Thank you so much, have you tried the Canva team subscription that's cheaper than subscribing yourself?

What I do is to just start the creation and then I link whoever I want to take over or continue :-)

Thank you, with the next renewal I will for sure look at it.

Okay, trying it out will be nice

Digital applications in learning refer to the use of technology and software to enhance the learning experience.
This days is very easy to learn at the comfort of your home, all you need is a smartphone or a laptop.

Talking about face to face learning : face to face learning is better when it comes to more explanations, asking of questions etc.

For me I will prefer face-to-face learning .

Hello @nsijoro,
A wise man once made a statement and I quoted "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance". Despite the billings nature from the virtual learning apps, one will testify to the fact that it's really helping. Taking canva as an example, creating a virtual classroom can be interesting because the students and teachers will have some sense of freedom. Also, I can say that Steemit is truly a learning virtual institution with cast knowledge to offers. Good luck on your entry👍

You said right some concept are individual that will be not clear without face-to-face learning but students feel easier when they are in online classes and they have to not in classroom.

The online classroom has its own importance and it reduce the traffic of students in the classroom and curtail noise in the classroom, I am glad you stopped by

All the digital applications that you have mentioned with their usage is a nice approach to explain the digital applications for learning. And indeed digital applications cannot replace the face to face learning. It has it's own importance.

It's importance is to enhance learning not to completely replace it
