Introduction

I just received a notification from @steemcurator01 to join Club5050, a project that aims to encourage more investment in Steem through power ups. In response, I have swapped all my earned 108 SBD to Steem in order to power up 1000 Steem as an acceptance of #club5050 membership. I loved this initiative and would like it to be given a proper structure. Before I explain why this is such a welcome development, here is how I have completed the power up transactions.

• The first thing is to swap my SBD which has been in my wallet for some time into Steem and get it ready for the power up

• Next is to use the internal market to do the swapping. You can notice below that I will get after the swap is completed

why Club5050 is a nice initiative

Yes, I also want to say that I have transferred 300 steem to an external wallet. As a full-time Steemian, I depend on on earnings to take care of financial obligations. This includes personal spending's and promotional finances. So the 300 Steem will take care of these important needs. Besides, some funds would be converted to other cryptos for trading tasks in the homeworks. So I strongly believe in and love #club5050 because it will provide a standard structure for spending earned funds and building SP in a balanced way. Basically, we should be investing more in SP than we are transferring away.

Recommendations to cub abuses

I believe that the Steemit team will come up with measures to make this a standard project on its own. For example, I recommend this three:

• It should be periodic: Yes, this will ensure that participants do it in an organized fashion. Recommendations can include to make it weekly, or bi-weekly.

• Minimum entry: Since this is an exclusive club to motivate big accounts to invest in SP, there should be a minimum entry. For example, it could be 500 Steem. This way, we wont see members powering up 10 steem frequently to game the system.

• Other big earners: I also want to see a future where big earners - for example advanced students in the Cryptoacademy - would be required to join a project like this, or some other requirements that will encourage them to invest more in SP. I see wholesale transfer of earnings in the Academy which is hurting the system.
