Introduction

It was really a successful outing for SteemALive community in season two of the Steemit engagement challenge. It was really a great experience. Now we are ready to apply once again for the next season which will soon commence and that is season 3. @steemitblog, this is our SteemAlive application to be considered as one of the hosting communities

The Purpose of SteemAlive community

The main aim os SteemALive community is to do recruitment and promotion of Steem. When we were forming the community, our mission was clearly stated, that we will take Steemit to every doorstep. So to put it clearly, we are 100% into Steem promotion. The amount of work we have done in the Nigerian space over two years speak volumes.

SteemAlive Community - a brief history

The community was formed on 12th July, 2020. @focusnow is the founder with a team of 5 members to help out with running the community. We started from a humble beginning, organizing seminars and creating awareness through other means such as Radio. We increased in numbers over time and have made the biggest impart on virtually any Steemian from Nigeria.

Our commitment to Steem promotion and supporting newbies have been exceptional. We now have country representatives, moderators, academy professors and many other successful Steemians from Nigeria whom we recruited, mentored and supported to become valuable members of the platform.

We have not stopped doing promotion. We continue to utilize all avanues of creating awareness to let everyone know about the Steem platform.

Community Account for curation

Our community curation account is @steemalive. This account is used to support all our members and made sure they earn from their posts. We power up more often than most other communities. In fact in 2022 alone, we have powered up more than 10k SP. This shows how much effort we have put into building this account

We have been seriously building our account through the all4one project where we encourage members to donate at least one post to the community weekly. It is not surprising that we are heading towards becoming an orca as can be seen above.

We are encouraged by our effective steempower which is in excess of 70k SP. That shows how far we have gone. We will continue to grow and get stronger and stronger by powering up more.

For the community keys, @marajah and @samuel20 holds the posting keys to assist with important updates. @focusnow holds the other keys and have them properly backed up. This arrangement has ensured a safe and smooth running of community operations ever since we started

Current Policy on Engagement

We made engagement attractive from day one. That is why it was not such a difficult thing to do well in that area during the just concluded season. We have done so many projects that encourage and reward engagement

1. Our Post Promotion channels have a rule of engagement: In our post promotion group on Whatsapp, users must make two meaningful comments on other persons posts before they are allowed to drop one link.

2. Top 5 selections daily must engage: Each of the 5 selected users daily must support at least one other nominee. We have that as an unwritten rule and many of our members are strictly following that. It has created another avenue for engagement.

3. 5Times7: This is a project that we created to reward our members who engage with all top 5 posts daily and weekly. SO participants must comment on all 5 posts selected for booming support and they must do it everyday for 1 week. We will soon revive this project as it stopped briefly in June during the engagement challenge.

Helping Users improve their posts

No other community takes mentorship serious like SteemALive. We have many programs for Steem education sa follows

1. Weekly Classes Each week we try to hold at least one general class to educate our members on various areas pf Steemit. This has gone a very long way in helping new users learn a lot about Steemit.

2. Group Classes: Team leaders also organize physical classes wo help their members learn more. @ijelady does not miss organizing such classes for her team in Uyo. Others leaders do same in various cities like Aba too.

3. By Example: We try to publish quality articles on our pages and point tto them as examples of great content. This has enabled many new users to learn from our example.

Why we must be given this Opportunity

1. A vibrant Community with active members: We have a very vibrant community that has remained active when many other communities are dying off. When we publish our contest post, many users participate and do so happily. Check out the one we published just yesterday, it already has close to 90 engagement

2. A track record of success previously: We were selected to participate in the challenge last season and we did amazingly well. Two times, we recorded the highest engagement count of all the communities participating. We made the engagement challenge fun and interesting. With our experience and success the last time, we are better positioned to do well this time.

Conclusion

We seriously look forward to another opportunity of being selected for the engagement challenge. We have done well before and we will do well too if given another opportunity to do so. Thank you Steemit team
