Emanated from the Father's Heart
A tapestry by divine finger
An embroidery by the finest weaver
Endorsed by the Father’s signature
A replica of His glorious nature
A perfect hub of innovation
A perfect hub for industrialization
Conducive and viable for trade and commerce
Your entrepreneurial and enterprising spirit
Is extremely unparalleled and worthy of emulation
Your hospitality to strangers is earth quaking
Your accommodating culture, surpasses understanding
Your survival instinct is unequalled and worthy of emulation
Surviving against infrastructural misfit
Surviving against insecurity
Yet still uphold your loyalty and Integrity
Yet still pay dues to Cesar
Despite the negligence of your plights by Cesar
You have produced great merchants
You have given the world, great sports super stars
You have incubated beauty queens
You have birthed evergreen artists
You have given the best of intellectuals
You have groomed mighty gospel revivalists and reformers
You have given succor to great Ikembas and warlords
Your brave hearted women in 1929, triggered a protest
That decimated the bravado of the then colonial taskmaster
And disarmed their selfishness
You are a symbol of toughness
An emblem of ruggedness
An epistle of endurance
An apostle of perseverance
To know more of you, Aba
Is to bend down and see
Oh! Bend down and see Aba
And I see the incarnation of Daniel's spirit
To wage war against the Prince of Persia
To overthrow the throne of Nebuchadnezzar
I see the incarnation of Joseph's spirit
To flee and resist the temptation of the wife of Potiphar
To be appointed by Pharaoh as Prime Minister
Then your glory and dignity shall be fully restored
Your potentials and hidden treasures, greatly maximized

Aba is a commercial city in Abia State, Nigeria.
DEFINITION OF NAMES AND SOME TERMS IN IGBO LANGUAGE:
Ikembas means warlords or the strength of a community/nation.
Enyimba means The City of Elephants
Enyi means Elephant
Mba means City/Town/Nation
Ihe adiwó nma means All is well.
Nzógbú means to trample upon the enemies.
Last stanza is a war song peculiar with the Igbos to motivate and elevate the morale of soldiers for war.

@scribal. Impressive write up. I grew up, studied, established a business and live in this city. Everything you have written about is true. Am especially impressed with the business mindset of the city. Every corner that you look, you see evidence of buying or selling. And that is what has kept the city going on matter the poor infrastructure.
