MY FAVORITE MEAL FOR THE WEEKEND: ECONOMICAL PALM OILED FRIED JOLLOF RICE.

INTRODUCTION.

“ Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and circumstances, is the key to survival against all odds.”

Considering our nation’s (Nigeria) economy and the present inflation rates, the capacity to be flexible in order to adapt and align with the present wave, is the best strategy to survive. To move against the direction of the wind, is to expose oneself to risk, which could result to colossal damages.

In view with the foregoing, I have decided to cut costs, budget wisely and spend my financial resources, responsibly and judiciously, keeping up to date records of every expenditure, including smart budgeting on preparation of good but low costs foods.

Therefore, stay with me, as I narrate to you the step by step procedure on how I prepared the most economical palm oiled fried jollof rice. Lets roll.

MY FIVE FAVORITE MEALS FOR THE WEEK.

Oha soup, palm oiled fried jollof rice, pounded yam, porridge beans and roasted plantain. I will love to expressly narrate how I prepared the Palm oiled fried jollof rice.

THE COST OF THE JOLLOF RICE RECIPE.

As an astute economist, first of all , did my budgeting and due diligence, considering the liquid cash at hand, to prepare a palatable and nutritious low cost, palm oiled fried jollof rice. The following are the lists of the food recipe and their commensurate costs in naira and steem dollars.

  • 1. First of all, I washed the rice with cold water, with a little pinch of salt.

  • 2. Poured one cup of water to my pot, then added the rice to the already boiling pot, with a little salt to taste.

  • 3. After 10 minutes, the rice was done. I have to remove it from the pot and transferred it to a plate.

  • 4. Poured the palm oil in the pot, to stem it for 30 seconds, then I added the sliced onions and turned it for 15 seconds.
  • 5. Afterwards, I inserted the fresh pepper, a little salt and the sachet tomato sauce. Then turned all the mixture.

  • 6. Now, I added the boiled rice, turned it together with the entire sauce and then added the maggi to taste. After some few seconds of turning and stemming. Here we are, Food is Ready!
