Why I am still here!

I have already invested in over 30 coins, which has provided me a very intense amount of real world education about crypto. In America we call an education like my cryptocurrency education the school of hard knocks. I have learned the agony of sending cryptocurrency A to the wallet for cryptocurrency B and realized my cryptocurrency was gone for ever. I have watched my hard drive die and take my cryptocurrency private keys with it to its grave. I have seen coin projects die both from neglect slowly and from theft quickly. I learned about high inflation in staking coin projects reducing the value of the coin massively right after I invested very significant amounts of fiat.

The school of hard knocks is a harsh and expensive teacher. While I cherish the lessons I learned, I remember my fathers words well. You can learn from me when I tell you the stove is hot or you can learn by touching it and getting burned. When it comes to learning about cryptocurrency I have my share of burns.
Based on these experiences I learned through that crypto currencies come and go, seemingly with lifespans of fruit flies which are measured in days. And coins with no use case were my biggest mistakes, coins with ghost developers or “hit-n-run” developers who make coins, mine coins, sell all their coins and then vanish...
There are so many abandoned coins that there are websights dedicated to listing them. There are also coins which specialize in uniting communities of abandoned coins in their community.

Steem is different from these abandoned or hopeful projects. Steem has a lot of functioning applications. In fact, if you look at the top twenty Dapps in all of Crypto Six of them are on the Steem blockchain with D-Tube, Partiko and Steemhunt being Steem’s 4th, 5th and 6th Decentralized Applications in the top twenty. If you look at the top 30 Dapps in usage we have nine here on the Steem Blockchain; Actifit, eSteem and Busy being the 7th, 8th and 9th entries. Nine of the largest Dapps in the top 30 Dapps in all of Crypto are here on the Steem blockchain. If you look at the top 100 Dapps in all of Crypto the Steem blockchain has 18 of the largest Dapps in all of Crypto. Steem has 18 of the largest Dapps in all of Crypto. Add D-Like, Smartsteem, nTopaz, TokenBB, Steampeak, APPICS, Minnowbooster, SteemPress, 3-Speak and dPoll to the list of names above and you probably have one of the largest collections of working Dapps on any blockchain other then Ethereum.

In my humble opinion Steem is very undervalued, if you consider price alone and ignore th community, it’s utility, it’s scalability and it’s adherence to the five core traits of a cryptocurrency blockchain. Considering developments like MIRA, HIVEMIND, Steem-Engine, twenty very active decentralized applications on the Steem blockchain and now SMTs and NFTs the value and potential of Steem is very great.

These are the reasons why I am here investing in Steem. I will make a bold statement. The majority of the cryptocurrency market is like being poor and living in a 3rd world country, it sucks. Being in the Steem coin community is like being middle class in a first world country like the USA.
Being here after being a newbie in the crypto jungle I feel like Steem is amazing. Steem has not just one use case, but several. Steem has not one developer but several hundred! Steem has a huge active community, Steem has DAPPs, Steem has so many positive attributes missing from your every day coins. Steem is like a beacon of light in the darkness. I know that sounds dramatic, but the differences between Steem and your average Alt-coin are dramatic.
I have lived life in the crypto jungle and this “the Steem Community” is truly an oasis, and a highly advanced cryptocurrency civilization.

STEEM, Hive, or both?

That is going to be the question.

I am ready to embrace Hive as the evolved Steem, but will keep an eye on Steem to see how it’s doing. I am anxious to see if Steem-Engine and the other Dapps migrate quickly and smoothly. I know there may be bumps in the road, but hope to be pleasantly surprised by the transition. 🙏🏻
