You do have to opt-in to earn tokens @yogajill. I posted a simple "how to" on this yesterday if you want to check it out. :)

G to the drop down in the upper right and go to "Brave Rewards". You have to turn it on the first time.
Then you will start getting the ads on the bottom right to click on.
