Hello, everyone! It's a new week to put into practice what we have been learning or learnt increase the prowess of our creativity. For me, I have been trying to learn how to draw well and believe me it is tasking just like every creative skill is.

My pencil drawing

I took on a tutorial on YouTube today where I learnt how to draw a lake scenery from the camera's lenses. The tutor took time to explain how it was easy to get the outcome and also gave the detailed way of making this drawing.

The drawing shows a lake that is surrounded by hills and valleys, birds flying, the sun shining and a man paddling a boat with a woman on it.

Here are the steps I took to get this outcome.

Step 1

The items I used for this purpose are;

• A4 paper
• 2B pencil
• Eraser
• Sharpener
• Compass

Step 2

Compasses are used to make circles.
Here, I used the compass to draw two circles; a big one for the lens border and a small one for the sun.

Step 3

I fixed up the line separating the lake from the hills, indicated the hills and the valley and also the rough edge of the hills.

Step 4

I shaded under the line, which is the lake area lightly using my pencil and also drew the flying birds.

Step 5

Using my pencil, I shaded the surfaces of the hills. I did the shading I'm three forms; light, deep and deeper as the image shows.

I also shaded the borders of the sun to depict it shining.

Step 6

All I did here was shade the flying birds and the lake part of the image.

Step 7

Here, I added those transporting by water using a boat. I drew the boat, the paddle, the man paddling, the passenger(woman) and shaded them to give their silhouette.

These steps gave the final outcome.
