Ladies are so talented in whatever they do. They excel with the help of the Almighty despite being weaker vessels. I am glad that I am part of those who work hard to achieve success. It was my fitness group football game day which usually holds every Wednesday. This past Wednesday was one of its kind, one you wouldn't like to miss the gist. Just follow along let me tell you how it all happened.

Morning workout

After my morning usuals, I dressed up and went for my workout. I was early and as such, I was able to set programs of the day. This week, we are working based on target. Based on what a member really needs to workout on. That means that we are working out all round our body. But this Wednesday, I dished out a programs that targeted the lower body, arms and abs. The pictures below speak louder than words

We trained on strength, abs, arms and so on

Football ⚽ ⚽ ⚽ wednesday

Wednesdays are our football game. As soon as we were done with our workout programs which ended by 8:15am, we quickly arranged for the football. @fifapresido got the field ready by placing the small goal post in their position. They also paired those available and who were willing to play. I quickly brought out the jersey in my possession which is the Steemit jersey that I bought 3 years ago.

My team wore yellow 🟡🟡🟡 colour while the other team wore the blue colour 🔵🔵🔵. We were 5 in each team. We had the referee and the media personnel.

Yellow teamblue team

I was in the same team with fifapresido, endiong24, and 3 others while @alli001 @kidi40 @emacoz and 2 others were in the other team. My team had 3 ladies while the other team had only 2.

The game began in earnest. We played very well and we were able to defeat the blue team by 5:1 out of which I scored 1. You can imagine the feelings and excitement! It was a very wonderful game. About 20 minutes into the first half, we had a water break where everyone rested and drank water as were all very tasty

IMG-20240703-WA0072.jpg

Then as soon as the game ended, we ordered for Soft a little refreshments which one of us sponsored. We were very grateful for his kindness. We shared it to everyone present and sat to enjoy it as a group

The pictures above is where I was enjoying my own portion of the refreshments.

We dispersed after the refreshments and I then went home immediately because I had a lot to do back home.

At home

At home, I first of all washed my workout outfit. This is very important to me because we are in the rainy season here and sun rarely shines. Even though the next workout day was going to be in 2 days time, I still had to wash so that before that day, they will dry. There are some stuffs that I use each workout days like my hand gloves, face towel and others.

I also had to wash the jersey that we used so that I can arrange them when they dry for another day

Next was to arrange for my breakfast/lunch because it was almost lunch time. Thankfully, my daughter prepared beans porridge in the morning. I only went to my garden to get utazi leaf that I will garnish it with. I quickly warmed the beans after washing, got the utazi leaf, washed and sliced it and garnished the beans with it as you can see in the pictures below.

As soon as I was done with that, I had my next plan in focus which is to prepare soup for the family. This time around, it is bitter leaf soup that I want to prepare.

This involves going to my garden, getting the leaves and washing them. But do you know that it takes a lot of efforts to wash off the bitterness in this better leaf?

Anyone who had prepared it before can attest to it. @mesola, what does it take to wash off the bitterness in a bitter leaf?

Well, I didn't consider the efforts but I just had to swing into action. I went to my garden, I cut as much as I would need and picked them out from the stems. Then I started washing the leaves.

It foams a lot. So the first time with the first water, I had to deal with the foat. But during the second time, I used palm oil to control the foam so that I can be able to wash it faster.

Palm oil is not the only thing that can be used to control the foaming. You can also use the palm fruit. Just put a seed in side and try squeezing it. The foam will disappear. The Palm oil is just to add a drop into the bitter leaf and the foam will disappear. I don't know if there is any other thing that is used to control the form. I only know about this 2 because I had learnt them from my mother and from the neighbours around when I stayed with my aunt years back.

I washed the bitter leaf 5 times before the bitterness reduced to the point that we can eat it when added to the soup. Note that the washing has to do with squeezing. You must squeeze to be able to remove the bitterness.

The next was to get fresh pepper from my garden too. Fresh pepper is very expensive now in my city of residence. Just about 4 pieces is sold for 200 naira or 0.8 steem. Check out the one I got from my garden below but I didn't use all as they were many.

IMG_20240703_151856.jpg3 different species of pepper

These peppers even added wonderful flavour and taste to the soup. I quickly used the snails I have available at home to prepare this soup. Don't worry, I will teach how to prepare it next time. But note that different ethic groups prepared bitter leaf soup differently. The central Igbos or the Anambras prepare it with palm fruit, cocoyam and ogiri as their basic ingredients.

But this one, I prepared it with Ogono and egusi but it came out really delicious and yummy 😋 😋 😋. My kids and my husband attested to this, even your eyes can explain better.

The food is readyIMG_20240703_155533.jpg

The next thing I did before night fails was to take my shower, then tries to amend my yoga mat. One of the sides cut the last time I took it out for workout. I brought it back, washed it and now, I used gum to hold it together. I pray it stays. I really need to replace it because it's doing as if it has expired. When you flip it to remove sand after use, the pieces will scatter everywhere. I will surely plan for it though it now costs about 18000 naira which is 72 steem. Something that I bought 8000 naira (32 steem) 2 years ago. Things are really very expensive but the Almighty is seeing us through. We can only wait for the time when all things will be made new by the Almighty.

That was all I did for that day along with my Steemit activities here on the blog. In all, it was a day filled with a lot of excitement, fun, fulfilment as a lady. Our hands never rests until we sleep. I don't know if I am the only one but I believe that all ladies of steem are all hardworking! We are special people, right @goodybest @event-horizon @karianaporras?

Note: except the pictures I took at home, every other pictures were taken by the media personnel of my workout team which were shared in our WhatsApp group

Bitter leave soup is my best soup, but it will need a lot of water to be able to watch out the bitterness. Let me tell you something after eating immediately drink water, that's when you will love your soup.

As for the pepper, Mama please you will teach me how to plant it, I really want to have it in my small garden. I love eating fresh pepper.

I agree with you that immediately after eating bitter leaf soup, when you drink water, it will turn to sweet taste. I love it too and like you said, it needs a lot of water to wash off the bitterness.

As for the pepper, its very simple:

Just prepare the group or put fertile sand in a bowel that you are not using again, through the seeds in there and water it.

Once the nursery sprouts, til the ground, add water, chicken manure and ash. Then transplant and make sure you water regularly if there is no rain. Apply that manure from time to time once you notice that the one you applied is fading away. And wash it surprise you. Try it out and give me update let's follow up on it.
