What Happened

There is this lady named Sophia who lives in a certain village call Ogba. Since from childhood, she is known for her love for God and her dedication to the things of God. She is the second and last child of her parent. Her mother gave birth to her and her elder and was unable to conceive after her birth.

This lady's life turned from good to bad when her father who is already late raped her. She was Twelve years old when her father raped her. After He had raped her, He gave a sound warning and instructed her not to tell anyone about it, not even her mother was aware of the incident.

She has been living and wallowing in sexual sin after her father raped her and no one was aware of her sudden change of character because she kept her sinful life secret. Her mother and sister taught that Sophia was still the vibrant young lady who was burning for Christ, but the never knew that she has deviated from the ways of righteousness.

She slept with too many men that she lost count of the men she has slept with from her teenage age till when she became an adult. Her immoral life got her into trouble when she slept with her best friends husband a night before their wedding. Her best friend felt so betrayed and heartbroken when she found out that Sophia slept with her husband a night before their wedding.

Sophia lost the friendship they have built with her friend for years simply because of her inability to control sexual urge,, After the rape experience with her father,, she lost self control. And it has landed her into so many problems.

As God will have it,, Sophia meet a Doctor who happens to be a dedicated child of God and he lead her into accepting Jesus as her personal lord and savior. It wasn't easy for the doctor at all because,,,, Sophia was so adamant and was not ready to give her life to Christ. The guilt of her past sins was killing her silently and no one was aware of it. But with the help of this doctor, Sophia became a new creature and started preaching about the Gospel to others.

Guess what?? The doctor who lead her to Christ in turn proposed to her and she initially turned the proposal down because she felt like she doesn't deserve the doctor, She said the doctor was too innocent to have a person like her as a wife. But after much prayers and advice from her elder sister,, she became convinced and later meet the doctor and changed her response to his proposal from no to capital YES.

Few months later, Sophia and the doctor got married. After their wedding,,, she looked for her friend who she offended years back and pleaded for forgiveness. Her friend forgave her and their friendship was renewed.

As it stands now,,, Sophia is living happily with her husband and a bouncing baby girl that God has blessed their marriage with.

What I Have Learned From It

I have learned to always confess my sins and ask God for Mercy,, because God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Without God mercy and forgiveness,, We won't be able to live a good life.

I have also learned that no matter how bad my past is,,, I should let it go and embrace the beautiful life that is ahead of me which I haven't experience yet. Holding back to your past sin can drain you both physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritually which happens to be the most dangerous of them all.
