Contest| "Tell your Story#25" When Actions Don't Match Faith

In this life, it always good to practice what you preach, Christianity isn't only about going to Church and reading the Bible, it also narrows down to the way we relate with whomever we found in life but the rich and poor, Privileged and non privileged.

What happened

So my Place of Primary Assignment, where I currently undergoing my NYSC, there is this teacher that has offended me so many times. So my first encounter with her was the day she gave me a Flyer inviting me to her Church which I collected. My Second encounter with her was the day she was with the Class register of one of the SS3 class I teach, I pleaded with her to allow me snap the register before she continued using it but she refused and told me to wait until she was done using it before I could snap it.

As if that wasn't enough, few weeks back she took my period and when I entered the class to tell her that is my time she told me that she was already there and she can't leave. Every teacher has the School timetable and I don't understand if she doesn't know her time again. I left the Class that day to avoid embarrassment.

The last Carmel that broke the Carmel's back was the one that happened on Monday. So according to the School, Teachers are meant to enter Students scores in a particular broadsheet and booklets and all the teachers teaching a particular class will do that in one. Luckily for me, my Subject was among the first paper written by students and I did all the recording last week but I had few students whom I couldn't locate that Classes and that brought me to School on Monday. On getting to the Staffroom, I found out that this Teacher was the one with the Broadsheet.

I pleaded with her to allow me to fill in just three Students scores and this is something that wouldn't take more than 5 minutes but she refused and said that I have to wait till she is done. She went ahead to tell me that she don't understand while a Corp Member would be teaching SS3. I have to wait from 9am to 12noon before she finished and released the Broadsheet to me. This is a Woman that is always inviting me to her Church and proudly wearing putting on her Shiloh Tag.

As a Christian I feel disappointed that someone who says she is a Christian can't live up to it. I promise myself that any day she makes a comment about me not being qualified to teach SS3, I will teach her to teach them herself since she is more qualified.

I have promised myself that any day she misbehaves I will put her in her place.

• Don't judge people by their appearance

Merely looking at this Teacher, you will feel that she is a good person until you relates with her.
