Curator Cat: Solstice Caturday!
Greetings Fine Felines and Hoomans of Steemlandia!
Today is a very interesting Caturday, because not only is it Caturday, it is also the Hooman celebration of "Solstice," which marks the longest night of the year, followed by the return of the light — the days will now slowly start to get longer and lighter again! At least if you live in the Northern Hemisphere.
Shangri and Nala contemplating the world
We have a more or less "full house" this weekend because the Daughter-Hooman and the Son-Hooman are both visiting from Seattle.
They will not actually be here for Christmas, but they could be here this weekend, so we are happy for that!
Happy Solstice!
Of course, this will be Shangri and Nala's first Christmas, as well. Hopefully they will enjoy all the extra treats as much as I do!
So far, they have been a little nervous about having so much activity in the house... they are definitely used to their peace and quiet. Nala is turning out to be the most social so far... Shangri is more prone to just hiding out in a quiet corner by himself.

The Hoomans have finally put up and decorated the big tree with all the shiny and sparkly things... in the closed off living room! The only cat allowed in there is Smudge, because she is too old to be much of a climber or jumper.
However, I keep watching for the door to be left ajar, so I can go in there and explore! I'm pretty sure that at some point that will happen...
Smudge is the only one allowed in the Christmas room!
As the end of the year draws closer, we are slowly starting to think about goals and ambitions for 2025.
Looks like I am going to fall a little bit short of my 2024 goal of reaching 3,000 SP, and if the price of Steem continues to remain low, I may have to made rather modest goals for the new year. Still, I'm proud of the fact that we have never powered down in all the years I've been on Steemit!
One of my better portraits!
I do wish we had more pet related content on Steemit, and that there was more support for it. We used to have many pet related communities, and many were quite active.
I know that lots of Steemians have pets... I'm just surprised more people don't post about their pets. We value our pets, but we don't value posts about them?
A few rays of morning sun!
Well, maybe it's a mystery I can figure out in the new year!
In the meantime, thanks for stopping by our little cat blog, and we hope to see you again soon!
