The majority of people die of Anemia unknowingly, and some suffer from the disease because they were not sensitized to the prevention of anemia. In this post, I will be talking about anemia, its causes, and its prevention.

ANEMIA


When a body is run by unhealthy red blood cells, the condition is known as anemia. When the red blood cells that are healthy and important in the human body are not sufficient, it causes a problem known as ANEMIA, which causes the body to be weak, tired and there is shortness of breath.

Anemia varies from mild to severe and can be caused by different things, it has many forms, and it can be short-term or long-term.

TYPES OF ANAEMIA


We have many types of anemia, but the commonest of them all is iron deficiency anemia, as the name implies, iron deficiency ( insufficient availability of iron). our body will not be able to produce enough substance that generates oxygen when there is insufficient iron, as such causing problems or illness.

Other types of anemia are caused by lack of sufficient vitamin B12, folic acid, and many others.


CAUSES OF ANAEMIA


  1. Pregnancy

  2. Too much blood loss

  3. Reaction to certain medications

  4. Deficiency of vitamin B12

  5. Deficiency of folic acid

  6. Iron deficiency

  7. Chronic diseases

  8. When red blood cells die abnormally, this process brings about anemia.

  9. When there is a bone marrow defect, anemia sets in

  10. When the body loses blood slowly through bleeding, anemia sets in


PREVENTION OF ANAEMIA


Preventing anemia doesn't require much it is just to eat healthy foods and a balanced diet.

Eat foods that are rich in iron example; seafood, beans, etc.

Eat foods that contain folic acid example broccoli and peas.

Eat foods that contain vitamin B12 example meat, egg, and dairy products.

In all said and done, we have to eat a healthy diet that contains enough nutrients to nourish our body and produce more healthy red blood cells, this will help us prevent anemia.

CONCLUSION


Conclusively, Anemia is a condition in which there is an absence of healthy red blood cells in the body. We have many types of anemia, but the commonest of them all is iron deficiency. There are causes of anemia, such as; Pregnancy, too much blood loss, Reaction to certain medications, Deficiency of vitamin B12, etc. I will recommend that people should be sensitized to anemia and its prevention such as; eating a balanced diet, foods enriched with iron, folic, and vitamin B12, etc.
