What are the main sources of air pollution in our environment?

The causes of air pollution in our environment are the automobiles, industries, power stations, and farming and the car emissions expel carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides whereas industrial activities expel parts per million of particulate matter as well as volatile organic compounds. Electricity generation by power plants releases sulfur dioxide, mercury and many other pollutants. Chemical processes in farming like the use of fertilizers and pesticides, are well known producers of ammonia and methane respectively so all of these sources have the general undesirable effect of reducing air quality and they have a variety of adverse health and environmental consequences.

How does air pollution affect humans health, especially vulnerable groups children and the elderly?

Pollution also affects the health of the human being most especially on the sensitive group people such as children and the aged ones so particulate matters typical of polluted air interfere with respiratory organs, cardiovascular features of human health and aggravate an original ailment or sickness and air pollution can be even more dangerous to children because their lungs are not as fully developed or to the elderly as their immune systems may already be weaker or they have chronic diseases.

And for those populations, hazardous effects include built up risks of asthms, lung cancer, heart attacks, and even stokes from breathing in polluted air for more often. Measures for controlling air pollution are important to pass and practice because air pollution is dangerous for people, including those with existing chronic conditions and the population as a whole.

What are some common symptoms or health problem caused by exposure to polluted air?

1. Allergies and skin irritation: As some of the gases in air can cause allergy the skin tends to get irritated, swell up or rash.

2. Headaches and dizziness: It also causes neurological complication including headaches, dizziness and affects brain functions in the long run through the respiratory system…

3. Aggravation of existing conditions: The outcome of increased vulnerability of the populace is such that individuals suffering from other ailments including but not limited to complications arising from diabetes, obesity, or other conditions which compromise the immune system end up suffering from polluted air.

How can individual contribute and reducing air pollution in their daily lives?

People can prevent air pollution by reducing the amount of garbage that is produced and following the correct procedures in the disposal of harmful wastes, that involves planting trees can also do so, and air pollution can also select the environmentally friendly products and use less water. It will be seen that simple alterations in behaviour can contribute towards enhancing the environment for all persons.

How does air pollution vary between urban and rural areas?

Temperature, concentration of air pollutants, and air freshening also differs among the urban and rural areas differences in population, traffic jam, industries, and geographical barriers. Higher densities of population, traffic emissions, industries, and construction projects are common in urban regions so resulting to high levels of air pollution.

Then the levels of pollution are usually lower in the rural areas, but here pollution can also come for examples, such as agricultural production or from wild fires, pollution does not stick to the professional living conditions of the cities, but can spread to rural areas because of wind currents affecting both air quality.
