Hi friends,

I am Jyoti from India, today I am going to participating in the SEC-16 WEEK-4 contest: https://steemit.com/hive-168205/@hive-168205/sec-s16-w4-or-the-environment-and-our-health organized by Healthy Steem community.

The Environment and Our Health

What do you understand by the Word "Environment"?

The environment encompasses everything around us. It can include both living and non-living entities. It encompasses physical, chemical, and other natural forces. Organisms live in their surroundings. They continually interact with it and adapt to the situations in their surroundings.

Earth is home to a variety of animals, and we all rely on the environment for food, air, water, and other necessities. The environment is critical to the survival and well-being of life on Earth. There are two major types of ecosystems.

Natural Ecosystem

It is the naturally created biological environment found in nature. These include deserts, forests, grasslands, lakes, mountains, ponds, rivers, oceans, etc.

Artificial Environment

It is an artificial environment created and maintained by man. It includes fisheries, crop fields, gardens, parks, zoos, etc.

How do our surroundings impact our well-being?

The elements that make life possible include the sun, earth, water, and air. It provides the genetic and biological types that sustain life. Combines debris in the process. Most of the time, it manifests as garbage. Natural environment makes it easier to dispose of garbage. Quality of life has improved as a result of the environment. Nature includes rivers, mountains, deserts and other natural features that improve overall quality of life and health.

Natural resources are indefinite and cannot be depleted or depleted even when overused. Natural resources are continuously available in endless quantities for the needs of life. Examples are water, air, trees, herbs, grains, minerals and other natural resources.

What are some ways pollution, like air or water pollution, can affect our health?

Pollution is the result of introducing impurities into our nature. This has adverse effects on the environment in which we live. Environmental quality is hampered by substances called pollutants. These substances are formed in one place, but are transferred to other areas by water or wind.

Air pollutants are emitted in large quantities on a daily basis. Not surprisingly, such emissions dangerously pollute the air, posing a serious threat to human health. No matter how healthy you are when it comes to air pollution, children, the elderly and people with respiratory or heart diseases are among the most affected groups.

Air pollution directly affects human and animal health. As the air that humans and animals breathe is directed towards the lungs, pollutants in the air can go directly into the lungs and lead to lung cancer. As for animals, many air pollution-related deaths have been observed in various parts of the world. Also, birds are severely affected by air pollution because they have to be in the center of polluted air.

Some of the effects of air pollution on health include:

  • High blood pressure risk in women
  • Cardiovascular and heart problems
  • Neurological and birth problems
  • Skin problems
  • Asthma , Corona

Water pollution is the release of contaminants into bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, seas, rivers, and oceans. The release of pollutants into these water bodies affects the entire ecosystem. Dumping of plastic into water bodies, discharge of contaminated water from industries and sewage discharge are major contributors to water pollution.

Water pollution is an important concern because pollution in water bodies has a very serious effect on the life of aquatic animals and it leads to complete disruption of aquatic ecosystems. Aquatic animals are killed due to high amount of plastic, water bottles and polythene. Also, as a result of increased water pollution disturbing the PH levels of water bodies, the water in some of these water bodies has become so poisonous or acidic that fish, dolphins and penguins have often died in the sea. River banks.

Causes of Water Pollution:

  • Dumping of plastic and untreated waste into water bodies
  • Discharge of toxic and untreated industrial waste into oceans and rivers.
  • Untreated waste water released from industries

Some of the effects of water pollution on health & society include:

  • Shortage of water for drinking and domestic use
  • The death of aquatic animals leads to the endangerment of many species.
  • Biomagnification
  • Excessive algal growth
  • Waterborne disease spreads rapidly

What are some simple actions you take every day to promote environmental health?

I am a nature lover in general. Like everyone else, I want to use clean air and clean water without pollution. So I am doing what I can. I cook and serve a lot of natural food to encourage nature. I have made the same habit with my family. I am adding more fruits and vegetables in my diet. When we eat more of our fruit, it spreads its seeds, so the trees are more likely to grow. So I think we should encourage ourselves to eat fruits.

And since my father's farm is in our villag, I often visit there to do the farm work with him. Also I bring vegetables fruits from there. Moreover I grow many fruit trees at my home garden since I knew this kind of small effort is helful to save our environment.

How can education and awareness play a role in promoting environmental health?

The negative impact of water, sound, land and air pollution on our nature is primarily human activities. Hence, it should be reduced as soon as possible. The life and survival of all living beings depends on Mother Nature. So it must be ensured that its balance is preserved.

We should aware people that Air and water pollution are very harmful to human existence on this planet. Air and water are the most precious natural resources, they are abundant but we misuse them. Any of these pollutions have serious effects on human and animal life.

Eduacte about Air and water pollution is not immediately irreversible if it is abused to the maximum, many diseases and disorders previously unknown to humans have been identified as a result of air and water pollution from chemicals and other toxic substances.

I would like to invite @shravana, @kyrie1234 , @arshani, to take part in this contest.

When it comes to air pollution around the part I stay in Nigeria, itโ€™s so bad that the entire atmosphere is covered with this black soot as a result of the type of the activity carried out there..

Air pollutants are emitted in large quantities on a daily basis.

During my studies, i was living in a bustling city, I've noticed how the thick haze of air pollutants often hangs heavy in the air, especially during rush hour traffic. It's worrying to think about how these emissions can affect not just our health but also the well-being of future generations. Sometimes I think what our future generations will think about ourselves.

Water pollution is an important concern because pollution in water bodies has a very serious effect on the life of aquatic animals and it leads to complete disruption of aquatic ecosystems.

Occasionally at weekends I enjoy fishing by the lake, I've seen firsthand the devastating impact of water pollution on the delicate balance of aquatic life. It's disheartening to see once productive waters now struggling to support even the most basic forms of marine life due to human negligence.

Good luck

It's wonderful to hear about your passion for nature and your dedication to preserving it. By choosing natural foods and incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet, you're not only promoting your own health but also supporting environmental sustainability. Your conscious choices to consume natural foods can inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that benefits both human well-being and the ecosystem. Additionally, your emphasis on eating fruits, which helps spread seeds and promotes tree growth, highlights the interconnectedness between our dietary choices and the environment. Keep up the great work in nurturing both yourself and the world around you ๐Ÿ‘

Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.

Natural resources are indefinite and cannot be depleted or depleted even when overused. Natural resources are continuously available in endless quantities for the needs of life. Examples are water, air, trees, herbs, grains, minerals and other natural resources.

Natural resources are indefinite. But human using it explicitly over and over and also polluting it which causes scarcity of resources or polluted resources. If air, water, etc are polluted then our future generation will suffer a lot. Now itself in summer days water scarcity occurs. In winter days air pollution happens at that time we are not able to breathe properly.
