First let's look at what wound is.
We can say that a wound is an injury on the body or skin caused by cuts, bruises burns or even a fall. At times wound can be as a result of fracture, surgery or accident. What ever the case wound is wound and sometimes leave a scar.

What's the first step to prevent infection when treating a wound

The first step to prevent infection when treating a wound is to clean the wound with cotton wool or quickly rush to a pump and wash thoroughly with a low tune of running water to prevent accumulated dirt's and debris. This step is very important in taking care of wounds because if forsaken, the dirt in the wound which is supposed to be removed can cause some sort of bacteria to start acting upon the wound. You can also treat a wound immediately by looking for cotton wool and spirit, making sure you clean the surface of the wound thoroughly so as to avoid further gushing of blood or keeping the initial dirt locked in the wound.

Why is it important to keep a wound moist during the early stages of healing?

Keeping a wound moist during the early stages of healing is important because it helps to create an environment where the healing process of the wound can be fastened.

Promotes healing: Moisture helps to create an optimal environment for wound healing, allowing cells to migrate and multiply, and promoting tissue repair. with these, there is probability of fast healing and enclosure on the site of the injury, which will perfect the healing.
Keeping a wound moist is also essential for reducing scarring. Doing this helps to reduce the formation of new tissue in the site which will not fasten the healing, but by keeping it moist, the will be spontaneous healing.
keeping a wound moist reduces pain in the wound. keeping a moist wound is better than a dry one because keeping a dry one is more painful than a moist one. A moist wound helps in reducing the rate of pain.
Keeping a moist wound is very advantageous, because there is little or no tendency of blood flow, serious pain, or presence of bacteria in the wound.
To sum up everything, a moist injury protects the wound environment so as to avoid bacteria intrusion or anything that can cause tetanus.

What are the signs of a possible infection in a wound, and what should you do if you suspect one?

The signs of a possible infection in a wound can be observed from the way the wound looks, the smell, or the area expansion. When a wound is infected a very strong symptom is itching. Itching is caused by the action of bacteria present. it could be by the movement of it or some spreading of infections in the wound. These few symptoms can be found in an infectious wound:
• Swollen surface area of the wound: When the surface area of a wound is swollen, the is tendency of infectious organisms present in the wound which caused the swelling.
• Ejection of pus from the wound: when there is discharge of pus from an injury, there is infection present in the injury which causes the pus discharge from it.
• Excessive flow of fluid from the wound: When there is excessive fluid flow, there is tendency of infection being present in the injury.
• Presence of bad smell from the wound. If there is bad smell coming from the injury, there is tendency that the wound is infected by some certain kinds of bacteria that causes foul smell.

How can you tell if a wound can be treated at home or if it needs medical attention?

If wound should be treated at home then it should be:
•A small wound with a shallow cut. If your womb has a small shallow cut that means there is no need for panicking, because the injury can be taken care of within
•A wound with no irregular bleeding. If your wound is not bleeding too much that means it is not serious injury which has to be rushed the nearby sick bay for treatment.
•A wound that is infection free. If your wound don't have some certain signs of infection like foul smell redness of the spot and this charge of pus that means the injury can be taken care of using face aid.
•No much pain in the wound. If one's wound does not have too much pain they would can be taken care of within either by fairst aid or home treatment.
•No external objects should be found in the wound like broken bottles. If external objects are found in one's injury then they won't should be taken care of by medical practitioner so as to remove the object which was embedded in the wound. Such objects can be broken bottles, stones ,and pieces of sticks.
If a wound need medical attention then it should be:
•Wounds with a deep and large cut. If your wood has a deep and large cut it should be rushed to a nearby medical center so that it might be cleaned and dressed properly before any other internal damages like tissue disorder

•Wounds with signs of infections. If your wound have signs of infections like foul smell, redness of the spot then it should be taken care of to avoid bacteria and some certain infections like tetanus.
•Wounds on delicate parts of the body like the eye and nose. If you have wounds on delicate part of your body like they nose and eye then it should be taken care of immediately by a medical expertise and not in the home.
•Wounds on people with bad health condition. If someone with bad health has an injury the person should be rushed to the hospital to avoid other losses and damages. A person with a weak immune system should be in this category, therefore anybody with a week immune system should be taken care of in a medical center.
•Wounds that last longer than it should. If a wound last longer than it should and does not heal on time then we should be referred the medical expertise to take care of and not home care services.
•Wounds that expose the bones and inner body. If your wound exposes your inner body or your bones then it should be taken care of properly in a medical center so as to avoid tissue damages.
If your wound is having any of these symptoms then it should be quickly rushed to a medical expert or to the nearest sick bay, but if your wound is not having any of these symptoms, it can be treated within.
