Hello my fellow steemian, it's a pleasure to be here all thanks to @dexsyluz for organizing an amazing context themed; *Global Alert for Monkeypox * ,for fellow steemian to participate on

Some people maybe asking what's Monkeypox?

Monkeypox is an infectious disease that can occur in humans and animals, it can be transmitted from one individual to another when there is direct contact with infected animal or infected person, sometimes it can also be infected by sharing items(clipper, sponge, towel, nail cutter, bracket)that has been used by the infected person.

The illness is abit mild, and most of infected person recover within 2 to 4 weeks but can last longer on a person with weakened immune system

What role does the WHO play in response to a global alert?

They're various responsibilities taken by WHO. To make sure that the global alert of monkeypox is limited, below are some various roles plays by WHO for global alert of monkeypox

  • They make sure that countries with Monkeypox infection are been quarantine

  • The WHO provide preventive measures to lessen the spare of the infection e.g avoid physical contact with animals to avoid being infected, Every person in a household should have their personal items

  • The WHO provide vaccine and medication to help treat the infected person

  • The WHO update the globe on daily information concerning the infection

  • The WHO also restrict international movement untill the infection has been calmed

How can I detect it? If I have it, should I isolate myself?

Detecting an infected person with Monkeypox is quite easy cause they'll be pox all over the person face,hands, chest,legs, but below are other symptoms to know that a person is infected;

  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches
  • Backache
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Exhaustion
  • Sore throat
  • Cough.

There is no proven treatment for monkeypox, but it usually goes away on its own, but to help you feel better you should visit the hospital for more medication treatments.

You should also try and isolate yourself and avoid contact with others until all the infected part of the have scabbed.

I'll be inviting some of my steemit friends to participate, @dazzle55,@jozzie90,@ekemini01
