I remember that I visited a dentist once when it was more than a simple decay. Normally I have no problem to see a dentist and I try to do regular visits and also to follow what they advice. I know that we have our permanent once in our life that is why I prefer to keep them healthy as longer as possible.
The only once I had a bad experience when one of my grinding tooth it was the 6th on lower jaw, understandable I went to dentist to prevent worsening of a defect on the surface of tooth. The dentist was new for me because my last visit of dentist was a while ago. The dentist was female and looked experienced. I immediately had trust toward her. She was polite, explained that there is a suspicion that the was a deep decay and might need root canal, she offered local anaesthetics and I agreed, as I hate toothache and when someone is telling that the nerve might be involved, that only means much more pain.
She gave my block and treated my tooth, it was fine because I still had local anaesthetic. Once at home few hours later, numbness is gone but instead of being happy, I started to have excruciating pain in my tooth, even without eating and having a pressure on my tooth. Unfortunately it was 6PM and dentistry was shut, I had to take pain relief and next day I went back to the same dentist. She looked at my took and could not understand what I have pain, as according her, he treated the nerve. She then agreed to re-open the filling and look again. So the whole story was repeated, local anaesthetic and again something was done, then defect was sealed again.
I was then a bit nervous and again few hours later once local anaesthetic weaned off, the same type of pain returned. I went back to the same dentist, but she then just told that there is nothing she could help, just take pain relief and wait. I went home, but I then started to search for another doctor.
I then found another dentist and when I arrived, I explained that I am struggling with pain in the root of my tooth after having twice root canal treatment. The dentist was completely surprised and told in advance that he can not promise that if he opens the tooth again he will manage to treat pain. I agreed I just wanted a second opinion.
The second dentist opened my tooth and I also asked for local anaesthetic, he opened and treated root canal again, put a filling and I went home. Few hours later I was ready with painkillers but it was a nice surprise, the numbness has gone but there was no pain any more. I was so happy, I just then knew that it was not me but it was real problem that the first dentist did not manage to treat.
Couple of weeks later I received an invoice from the first dentist who charged me twice for her work first time and for another attempt to treat. When I phoned and explained that the second one was due to persistent pain and actually it was still the same problem, but dentistry still insist that I pay even after explanation that I needed to go to other dentist who fixed that easily. It was no matter for them, for me I never gone again to this place any more and remained by second dentist.
I hope you have found interesting information for you and I would like to invite for this contest following users @vickyson, @lusciouslucy, @mole1
