The Diary Game:April 18-2022 "Welcoming Easter Sunday with a backyard barbecue party"|| Club100
Out of our excitement, we woke up at 6 am and agreed to clean up our surroundings as many trees were cut down lately as commanded by the company owner. The dried leaves were added to the past fall season. And only now we were able to clean for a long time already.
There it went, every one of us was very busy. Some were picking up the grasses and sweeping while others were assigned to clean inside our apartment. It was full of fun though a bit tiring. You really won't get tired that much, especially when your friends kept on throwing jokes and talking about anything.
What made it funnier is that no one knows how to operate a chainsaw. They wanted us to cut those woods, and it would be a lot easier using a chainsaw. Fortunately, someone made it work and was able to use it. We then cleaned every corner of our surroundings, it feels great upon seeing it finally clean. Truly it gave a positive vibe and a good mood. We then relaxed for a moment in our room right after cleaning up everything. Others went to the grocery to buy meat and seashell for the party later, as we agreed to start the preparation at 11:30 and do the cooking.
We started right away with the preparation as soon as the agreed time came. Smoke was everywhere! With the savory smell, we could no longer control our hunger. So while others were busy cooking many of us were also eating. Our company owner bought a lot of meats, pork, beef, and chicken. We enjoyed the food with the owner who also ate with us. Usually, during this occasion, we used to prepare a short program. Presentations of various talents from our fellow Filipinos' would then be presented. But that was before the pandemic. This time, we only prepared food and no more program.
Filipino Foods were also served, like pancit and benignet. Since it was Easter Sunday, we intentionally made this dessert. Good thing ingredients were available here like coconut milk, tapioca, palm flour (landang), sugar, and many other sweet ingredients.
After we ate, we sat on the side while our colleagues were drinking beer. I just sat with them but was not drinking since I am not used to it. This is the tree that we cut down earlier, someone made a table and a chair. A perfect place to hang out in summer.
I have lots of memories to take with me when I go back home to the Philippines. And I thank God for all the blessings he has bestowed on me, above all He is with me while struggling to survive all the challenges while I am away from my family.
Happy Easter Sunday!
Grace and peace,
@juichi
