Mabuhay Steemit Philippines!
How are you my fellow Filipino steemians? I hope all are well despite of all our daily challenges in life.
We have a lot of Filipino foods. But I wanna share to you this very simple but nutritious food we have the "vegetable soup and ripe mango for dessert."
I grew up in the province. My father was a farmer. This vegetable soup we called it "law-oy" was our normal dish everyday. Me and my mother used to went to the farm to fetched these kind of vegetables. Our main source of food was our very own harvest that's why my parents never sold our harvest. Honestly, I felt unfortunate that time because we always ate on what we planted. But now that I live in the city, I realized how important eating those foods. Specially, now that pandemic still hitting the country, we strived hard just to get a nutritious food for our family. Eating these foods more often is encourage to boost our immune system because of its loaded nutrients that our body needs.
Another Filipino food that I wanna share is the fried "tamarong" fish. This fish has a sentimental value for me because when my father was still alive, sometimes he went on fishing and he usually caught this kind of fish and made a tinola dish for us and it's my favorite too. Now when I saw this in the market, I prefer to buy it and make a tinola dish, then the extra fish I fried. Then for the next meal I put it on my vegetables soup, it's so yummy and nutritious.
Ripe Mango. We can make many dessert recipe using ripe mangoes but most of the time I ate pure ripe fruit, it's my favorite. I remember in the province, in my grandparent's property, there's a lot of mango trees too. Since I was a kid I loved mangoes raw or ripe I ate both. When it's mango season, together with my cousins and friends we went to mango farm. We brought a knife and salt, then we ate under the mango tree and we enjoyed so much.
I always prefer to eat nutritious Filipino foods and have a healthy lifestyle.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading!
I am also inviting my friends @rfprincess, @angelycong and @itsmejos to have their entry too.
God bless everyone!
Sincerely Yours,
