Steemit Philippines Community | Application for the Communities of the Month Support Program (07-19-2021)

A greeting to all from me @loloy2020 the founder and admin of the Steemit Philippines Community.

Recently, the Steemit Team announced their newest program to support existing communities within the Steemit platform, and as a growing community, the Steemit Philippines will apply to this program for the benefit of our members and community itself.

Community Purpose

The main purpose of the community is to help and support all Filipino Steemian not only here in the Philippines but all over the world. I have created the community from nothing with the goal in my mind that the community will be a place where all existing Filipino Steemians who doesn't have enough support will also be supported even though it is not that big as compared to other community. It is not also exclusive only for the Filipino Steemians for we all know that there were also other nationalities who loved the culture and lived in the Philippines, so everyone is invited to join the community.

I do believe that our community is unique in which as far as I know it is the only community here in the Philippines that will support everyone though I have also discovered before that there are also existing communities with the same purpose as our community but it was not active today and even if it is still active but never been noticed by the Steemit Team.

As an admin, it is my goal and responsibility to support and encourage all of the members and since the day I have created this community, I have done my part as I could and hopefully, this will encourage everyone to join the community and I will do my best to help and support everyone.

Community Team

I have created and run the community on my own for more than 3 months and I could say that I have done my best but as months go by and the continuing increase number of members of the community and to help me build a better community, I have recruited 6 new Moderators. All moderators are from the Philippines but, since the Philippines has 3 major Islands, the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, I have recruited 2 Moderators in each Island and they will be helping each other in their respected area. All moderators can read, write and understand English and the language or dialect we can use mostly here in the community is our own language, Tagalog, and even other dialects like Visayan.

As we are still a growing community, the only way we could give reward or paid off all the effort of our team is through upvotes to their weekly report and even to their comments as they are task to verify new members and help me check if the member's entry to a certain contest is qualified or not. Though it is not that big reward we could give to them but it is still a big help. I do believe that we have the same goal and purpose here in the community to build it better and whatever reward they will get, I know they will be happy.

As admin and founder of the community, I have all the keys and to make it safe, I have created a backup to it not just one but more than one so that in cases I can still recover the account.

Community Curation Account

The Community Curation Account of Steemit Philippines is @steemitphcurator which I've created this account the day I've created the community with no SP on its own but as days go by, with help of some of our members who delegated some of their SP and from the unending support from the Steemit Team who keeps on upvoting some of our community's Daily Update, the community curation account now has a total of 8,178.99 SP but still counting. Some of our members delegated some of their SP which is 2,544.77 SP in total and the account has a total of 5,634.22 SP.

Our main goal now is to get enough SP for us to sustain our community and support our members. To achieve all of this, we ask for support from our members by delegating their SP to our community curation account and in return, they will get a reward every month, 80% of the curation reward will be giving away to our delegators while the remaining 20% will power up. Another way is to participate in the #SPUD4STEEM campaign in which we have done it for the past 3 months every 1st day of the month and we won 4th place in our 1st participation and 5th in the second and we get enough SP to power up from what we earned from the support of Steemit Team. The said event was very helpful together with the reward we have received, a delegation for 25 days which is a big help to support and get some curation reward.

The Steemit team has had a big role in building our community since the beginning for without their support we could not achieve what we have right now. From all the rewards we earned from all the daily updates which mostly @steemcurator01 supports it, a big portion of it was used to power up the community curation account and some were used to give reward and sustain the ongoing contest we have right now in the community which is the Diary Game contest.

As an admin, @loloy2020 has all the access to the keys and decided to upvote and support our member's content shared in the community. Currently, the Voting CSI of @steemitphcurator is 5.5 ( 9.38 % self, 104 upvotes, 38 accounts, last 7d ). As far as I could, I have read and check all our member's posts and upvote all of them. I have also visited and given some upvotes to those who have used the official tag #steemitphilippines, and I have also visited other communities to give some upvotes.

Plagiarism & Abuse

One issue in all communities that we should need to address is Plagiarism & Abuse. Now, to address this issue, one of the moderators from the specific Island was given a task to check for plagiarized content and those who shared some phishing sites which is a sample of abuse. Another main issue is fake accounts and dummy accounts, to address this, we will be introducing a new verification process here in our community in which it is a requirement to be able to join any contest we will run.

Engagement & Commenting

To make a better community, engagements and comments are very important in which this will allow all members to know each other and a form of communication. I have encouraged everyone to comment on everyone's posts that is why a few months ago, I have started a comment contest but it runs only for I think a month but now, I have planned to do it again and I will be choosing one of the moderators to handle it. I have also required our contest to comment down their entry's link to the latest update which will then away to a thread of comments. Now that the community has a new moderator, I have now a team who could help me comment as much as we can which I have admitted that I did not do.

Plans & Updates

As a community leader, admin, I have lots of plans for the benefit of our members and the community itself. The first thing that put up my mind was to get enough SP before this year ends and I just hope we could reach at least 20,000 SP or more this year. Another one is to create more contests with the help of the moderators to make our members more active and even those who are not active will encourage to be active again. With regards to our updates, I have shared daily updates and posted it always in the community and mostly the updates were all about the existing contests we have and planned to have a weekly update to what are the most important updates that happened within the week.

As of now, the Steemit Philippines has no roadmap to follow but it is now on our plan to have it. If we talk about our long-term plan, I could say that our long-term plan is to make this community better and be a good place for all Filipinos all over the world to join as it is our passion to help and support all of them.

Promotion

In terms of promotion, I have tasks all the moderators to promote the Steemit platform the best that they can in their own ways. Another option that puts up my mind is to make a promotional contest as what I have seen in other communities like the Promo-Steem Community in which the Country Representative @julstamban from the Philippines is a promoter and runs a contest of promoting Steemit in other social media platforms. I have also planned to make it a contest for the moderators by Island since there are 3 groups, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the group who has the most number of invites on anyways they used will receive a reward. All this is just a plan but definitely, it will be happening soon.

Anything Else

Our Community is still a small community but since the beginning, I have given my best I can to support all members and the community itself. I have started the contest Diary Game thought there is still an ongoing contest started by Steemit Team, I choose this contest for I do believe that Steemit Team will support it and I thank God it was successful for it runs now for 14 weeks and shows some upvotes from @steemcurator08 to some of our member's entries.

I will be honest with all of you that if ever our community will choose for the community of the month support program by Steemit Team, I will do my best together with the moderators to make our community better and will do our designated tasks properly. As of now, we do not have to make our posts #steemexclusive but starting today, I will encourage all our members to make it #steemexclusive.

As a growing community, it is a big privilege to choose and will receive support for this month from the Steemit Team.

This will be all I say about our application for the communities of the month support program and I just hope and pray to God that we will be one community to be chosen.
