Volunteers Strive Hard to Sell products for a cause
(Volunteers are selling sweet treats - Coconut meat strips with tapioca pearl and pandan gelatin)
Greetings of Peace and Unity.
This is @uwanderer once again sharing with you the outcome of all our hard work and dedication to generate funds for our community and volunteer work for those families and children who are struggling in the times of pandemic, poverty, malnutrition, and poor health.
During the morning the volunteers started preparing the sweet treats which is the Buko pandan salad also known as coconut meat strip wihh tapioca pearl and pandan gelatin. This is a common sweet desserts or side dish in every meal period.
Before lunch time the next group of volunteers cook a lunch pack for sale which is the Sauted bitter melon also known as Ginisang Ampalaya.
One of the easiest meal to prepare. The volunteers secure all the lunch pack sealed and clean to make sure it won't easily get spoiled.
The volunteers then deliver it with their colleagues at work, friends, and family members. They also promote it individually in their own network.

(One of the previous volunteers 2011 who is now an owner of a small resto donated a pack lunch for the volunteers. It's his way of continuously supporting the volunteers)
After selling all the sweet treats and lunch pack. The volunteers proceeded to the nearby Market and started buying rice, canned goods, noodles and ramen as one of the main contents for the food packs.
(After purchasing the rice the selected volunteers started repacking the rice securing a good amount of rice per family. It will also be filled with ramens, noodles, and canned goods)
(After purchasing all the canned goods, noodles, and ramen the volunteers started completing the food packs to accommodate two different communities)
Time runs so fast the first of after lunch becam almost 5pm in the afternoon. Everyone tummy is crumbling the volunteers decided to have a quick snack and we all had a yummy pudding as our snack.
(It's also known as pampam in tagalog or bahaw-bahaw in bisaya)
The whole after went fast up to evening doing a continuous repacking. As evening come close the volunteers decided have a quick dinner to fill in the empty stomach.
(The volunteers feast on rice noodles as their dinner)
(the volunteers also had a deep fried maranay "small shrimp" )
After the quick dinner the evening lasted around 10:40 pm. Tummy once again dismantle the volunteers tummy so everyone decided to have spaghetti to midnight snack with bread.
As the packing is almost in the last batch. Everyone needed to fix up as by 12 midnight the vehicle will be leaving the warehouse to reach the entry point around 4am then start trekking around 430am and will arrive in the community around 9am.
The other group of volunteers will proceed to a different communities and they will be arriving in the community around 9am and the activity will start around 10Am the next day.
It will be a busy day for all the volunteers. Wish us luck for tomorrows activity.
