THE DIARY GAME: 3/8/2020: A DAY FULL OF WORK AND STEEM PROMOTION MOVES

Dear diary,

I woke up by 5:45 a.m. to prepare for work. I helped prepare breakfast for my wife and I, while she prepared lunch that I would take to work.

For lunch we took vegetable soup and semovita. After eating I had my bath with warm water I already put on fire while eating.

I proceeded to put on clothes and ready for work. I had to take some pictures to show you my outfit today. My wife took the pictures with my phone.

I later took bike to office and got there by 8:40 a.m.
I never knew what was waiting for me in the office until I dropped my bag. I planned to go do some inspection in the workshop, but something came up.

The most difficult report

I was given a report of three previous jobs to prepare. In my five years of experience in the job, I have never encountered such a difficult report. The information was not complete. Let’s talk about it.

Preparing report in my office

I was required to prepare a visual weld inspection report and weld summary. Normally, for the report to be feasible, I would need the weld map, welders register and material mill certificate. What made it difficult is that the job was done in Lagos during the lock-down and I was not sent to inspect the job. Normally if I’m the inspector I normally gather all the information I need for report.

The company that was contacted to do the job did not give us complete report. They sent a report that has no heat number(which should be gotten from mill certificate) and no item description. Even weld summary sheet was not done by them.

I asked my boss why he did not reject the report. He said the client who owns the job knows us and as such are demanding report from us. Thus, we must find a way and do a valid report from the little information available.

So, I have been in the office cracking my brain to fix it. I got the drawing from my boss and without the weld map, I had to use my experience to imagine where which joint is and which heat number to give to which material based on the material take off table.

I know you won’t understand except you are a welding inspector. I was able to finish reports for two jobs, covering both the visual weld inspection report and weld summary sheet.

I had to tell my boss to give me till tomorrow to finish the remaining one.

Lunch
I took my lunch by 1:35 p.m. and I invited our secretary to join me. I also invited our DCC(document controller) but she said secretary should join me today and she will join tomorrow, they said my wife’s food is always very delicious.

The secretary only took few spoons of the rice and stew and took one piece of the goat meat out of the two my wife put for me.

Steem promotion

This morning I bumped into some of the steemit flyers I did back then in 2018. I carried it to office with an intention to use it for steem promotion. But I could not step out because of loads of jobs.

But I was able to talk to @thompsonenang, who I invited to #thediarygame in the first season and he has not been active since the second phase began. He asked if it’s too late to join the season two of the game and I told him the game is still very early. He promised to join.

The day ended with close of work. I left by 4 p.m. today because I needed to buy few things for my wife from a nearby market. My plan was to buy a 10kg semovita, a custard rubber of brown beans and groundnut, but I got a call from her on my way to the market, asking me to come home that she’s missing me. She suggested that I can buy the items tomorrow and I obliged.

That was how my day went.
