THE DIARY GAME: 4TH AUGUST, 2020: SOME GOOD NEWS

Good afternoon, everyone.

Dear diary,

I wake up today very strong and healthy and my wife is fine too. I made breakfast for two of us and boiled water to bath and go to work.

While eating breakfast the water was already boiled. So, it saved time to just finish and enter the bathroom. Today is not a cold day unlike previous days and I think I’m going to stop bathing warm water for a while because of the heat we are experiencing since yesterday.

I got to office a bit late because I had to take a few pictures and discuss few family plans with my wife. Her brother is coming to spend time in our home this week and I can’t wait to recruit him to steem.

9:01 a.m. I was in the office. I already knew one difficult report was waiting for me, which I did justice to. But after preparing the report, I sent it to printer, but the stubborn printer refused to print. I checked my network I’m connected. I restarted my laptop as @thompsonenang, our I.T. person said, but still not working.

It was very annoying, so I left it to take my lunch first. My happiness is that I finished the report. I can always print anytime the printer come back to its senses.

For lunch, I took bitter leaf soup and fufu. That’s what my wife game me. After eating one of my friends from another company came in and asked everyone if they have seen how I’m adding weight since I got married. He said I’m now eating the real food, against coke and gala I used to eat when I was single. David is too funny and his statement might mean more but I don’t want to bother myself about his talk.

Now the good news
I’m sure you have been wondering where is the good news I saw on the title? Did I put you in suspense? Please pardon me.

At about 11:40 a.m. Nigerian time, some trucks came into out yard. It happened that the long-awaited pipeline job we have been hoping to start soon is now here. The company giving us the procurement, fabrication and installation job to do, brought their equipment.

As the material/ quality person I had to go receive them. Most of the equipment are in a 30ft container and we also received three sound proof generating sets. According to the client representative, about five more containers are coming in.

I was so happy to meet the client’s material person and he happened to be my senior student back then in secondary school. I have not seen him for over 15 years. He has not changed much, so we got reconnected and it’s so nice that I’m going to work with him in this new project, now as a colleague, not as senior again. Isn’t this world a small place. Never in my life did I dream of seeing Ukeme, at least not in the oil and gas sector. He’s now a big boy. I’m so happy for him.

Don’t mind me, I did not take pictures with him because we were so busy trying to direct the crane on where to offload the equipment.

It’s really a happy day and my hope is high. I will try to stay active on steem despite the job, I know it will be pretty demanding, especially when I’m going to supervise the installation. Trust me I’m going to share pictures.
