The moderator of the Steem for Bangladesh community @enamul17 brother has organized a wonderful competition. The name of the competition is 📢 Contest: Winter Snacks Recipe. In today's competition, I will share the recipe for winter snacks, such as cabbage and lentil pakora.
In the natural world, winter has arrived, shrouded in a fog. In winter, various winter vegetables are gathered in the vegetable markets. Cabbage is notable among winter vegetables. Cabbage is not available without winter. Therefore, the best season to prepare cabbage pakora recipes is winter. For afternoon tea, cabbage pakora is a delicious snack. Pakora can be made with just cabbage, but I will use a little lentil here. Let's get to the recipe without delay.
Ingredients needed to make cabbage and lentil pakora:
★1 cabbage
★100 grams of lentils
★1 cup chopped onion
★1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
★1 teaspoon chopped green chili
★2 teaspoons gram flour
★1 tablespoon cornflour
★1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
★1 teaspoon chili powder
★1 teaspoon cumin powder
★As per quantity
★As per quantity of salt
★As per quantity of oil
Step 1
Today I will make a cabbage and lentil pakora recipe, so first I will wash the lentils and soak them in enough water for 20 minutes.
Step 2:
After soaking the lentils for 20 minutes, I washed them well, drained the water, and put them in the blender cup. Then I blended them with a whisk without adding water for about 2 minutes.
Step 3:
Now, discard the top part of the cabbage and chop it into small pieces to make pakoras. I took a medium-sized cabbage to make pakoras. The entire cabbage was sliced into little bits by me.
Step 4:
After chopping the cabbage, put it in a basket and wash it very well with water. Drain the water and spread it in the basket.
Step 5:
Once the water has drained from the cabbage, transfer it to a large bowl. Then, add one and a half teaspoons of salt and press it with your hands to squeeze out the excess water from the cabbage. If you squeeze out the excess water from the cabbage, the cabbage balls or pakoras will be mushy.
Step 6:
Use your hands to crush the cabbage until the extra water has been drained, then transfer it to a small bowl.
Step 7:
Now, in a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of chopped onion, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder and salt as required. I also added chopped green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, gram flour and cornflour.
Step 8:
Once all the ingredients are added to the cabbage in the mixing bowl, I add the blended lentil dal. Then, once all the ingredients are added, I mix it with my hands. I will prepare the mixture for the cabbage pakora or pakora recipe by mixing it with my hands.
Step 9:
When the pakora or pakora mixture is ready, I will put a pan on the stove and heat the oil. Heat the oil slightly, take a quantity of cabbage and dal mixture in your hands, make the pakora or pakora in the desired size and drop them in the hot oil in the pan.
Step 10:
Avoid using extremely hot oil when frying the pakoras. After dropping the pakoras in slightly hot oil, I took my time and fried them until they were brown on both sides. I fried all the pakoras in the same way and drained the oil.
Final Presentation
I served the hot cabbage pakoras with tomato sauce. |
