Travel to Sipot Village, Acehnese Traditional Balah Ranup (Betel) Traditional Engagement in Aceh"Date 24 June 2021
Assalamu'alaikum all friends wherever they are, of course all are in good health always and and made easy in all matters.
Starting my first post in this community, I want to share my activities that were very happy yesterday, because I was on a visit to Woyla sub-district, to be precise, Sipot village, Sungai Mas sub-district, West Aceh district. To be precise, this area is a remote village that I have visited with my brother and the people of my village in order to repay ranup. Replying to ranup is one of the Acehnese customs that is still preserved by the Acehnese people from the past until now, as enshrined in the custom of bak poe teumerhoem hokoem bak Shia of Kuala, the origin of Aceh's customs.
When I walked through it by driving a train via Jalan Kuala Bhee, and entering Woyla until we had to pass many villages that we had to go through but on our way, even though it was a bit far but we had to go through fortunately also accompanied by beautiful scenery in the area. this is roughly the distance where I live is 37 kilometers of the road sometimes there are villages we pass rocky not asphalt also sometimes we go through villages that have asphalt sometimes there are high mountains I have to be careful when traveling uphill towards the mountain too for fear of falling , tired of me and rambongan on the way there apparently had to struggle a lot to get there sometimes on the way we also took a break because apart from the far road the sun was a bit hot accompanying us that's why me and rambongan had to rest a lot on the way there.
Arriving at Paya Baro village, we haven't been able to get there because we have to go through the river, of course there is a raft that will take us there to cross, but we didn't cross first because we waited for those who had not yet arrived with us, there was also our group who brought cakes - cake, betel, there is also a group with a rental car, arriving next to the village of Paya Baro we were picked up from there who saw our group had arrived and the boat arrived, we had to be careful with the river water which was a bit heavy.
When we got there we stopped to rest while waiting for the others to arrive. After arriving we walked towards together to deliver the ranup that we had packed and decorated.
This is the Acehnese custom that has been preserved throughout the ages. Since a long time ago, Aceh stood with the Acehnese Sultans. The custom has never been lost from the Acehnese people, which is still running, but in different ways in each region of Aceh.
