I think today is the last day of this week 26 contest, so, Im gonna hurry LOL.

I will share to you a special post today. Because this month of october is Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
Kindly bear with me coz this is a bit long but not that much. Hope you'll finish to the end hehehe.

My name is Jurich Lexann Nariko O.

This is my third child, my daughter, we call her Nariko or Koko. When I am pregnant to her, I dont feel anything wrong..It was like normal pregnancy. I really don't know she will have this syndrome until she came out on that day July 26, 2014 in the morning.
I felt so shock that time because I didn't expect it. I have so much mixed emotions and keep on asking WHY's.
But then when I came to her at delivery nursing area. I was so amaze to her, she was sleeping like an angel while the other newborns are all crying hahahha.

Days, months and years go by. It was a great & challenging journey having her in our life. She's fast irritated to a loud environment. She don't like cozy place. But Her beautiful soul, her charming smile was tattood in everyones heart that meets her. She's a sweet girl. She loves hugging. She loves taking a bath, often. She loves having selfie in phone camera. She loves music & She loves joy riding, broom broom.

-WHAT IS DOWN SYNDROME-
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that can affect many different parts of the body. An extra part or whole Chromosome 21 is the cause of Down syndrome. It is the most common chromosomal abnormality. This syndrome can affect the heart, the brain, the hormone system and the skeleton.

Women who are 35 years or older when they become pregnant are more likely to have a pregnancy affected by Down syndrome than women who become pregnant at a younger age. However, the majority of babies with Down syndrome are born to mothers less than 35 years old, because there are many more births among younger women.

Down Syndrome Causes and Risk Factors
For most people, each cell in your body has 23 pairs of chromosomes. One chromosome in each pair comes from your mother and the other comes from your father.

But with Down syndrome, something goes wrong and you get an extra copy of chromosome 21. That means you have three copies instead of two, which leads to the symptoms of Down syndrome. Doctors aren’t sure why this happens. There’s no link to anything in the environment or anything the parents did or didn’t do.

Types of Down Syndrome
There are three types of Down syndrome:

🔹Trisomy 21. This is by far the most common type, where every cell in the body has three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two.
🔹Translocation Down syndrome. In this type, each cell has part of an extra chromosome 21, or an entirely extra one. But it’s attached to another chromosome instead of being on its own.
🔹Mosaic Down syndrome. This is the rarest type, where only some cells have an extra chromosome 21.
You can’t tell what type of Down syndrome someone has just by how they look. The effects of all three types are very similar, but someone with mosaic Down syndrome may not have as many symptoms because fewer cells have the extra chromosome.
