Greetings and salutations!

My name is Erik, or if you have difficulty spelling that (as many do), you may call me @alternatively (I say that because history has proven that most people can’t spell Erik correctly, even when they’re composing an email and staring directly at my name). I live on a small island located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States of America.

I am a consultant in the residential real estate field, as well provide digital marketing services to the real estate industry, specifically those services which are video- and graphics-oriented. The days are long but I enjoy what I do thoroughly.

My experience with crypto is limited; I have purchased and sold a bit but mostly I have dabbled in some trading. I got some really nice awards from some coupon offers--free bitcoin is not to be sneezed at!

Hobbies and passions are an interesting question. The lines between work and pleasure often seem to blur for me. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Computers, reading, writing, composing and listening to music, cooking (just an amateur but I’ve yet to cause any injury, so I’m not half bad I guess) … laughing with friends, camping, hiking, beaches, travel. I am not fond of country music, rap, bigotry, racism, stupidity, intolerance, and squaredancing.

I like posts that are well thought out, insightful, incisive, witty, and smart. Mediocre seems to be the norm these days, but it’s not much more strenuous to exert a little effort and be fantastic, is it?

Steemit was shown to me on a whim about two years ago, when I had an account here briefly. A friend in the programming world introduced me and I just didn’t have the time to devote to it like I wanted. I have even less time these days, but the idea is much more interesting to me now.

I see myself being involved in the crypto forums and haven’t had much of a chance to look around so I’m open to suggestions. When I came back here a couple of weeks ago, I did some Googling and found a couple of articles of interest but am loving the idea of getting some better direction.

I hope to amuse a little, enlighten a little, share my knowledge, and perhaps gain wisdom from the experience of others. Oh, and to have a good time. Above all, since we can all determine if we’re having fun or not, we should aim to enjoy whatever we’re choosing to do. Choose fun!

I am looking forward to meeting some of the other new Steemit denizens soon. I shall leave you with this, plagiarized no doubt from a random cheerleader’s high school yearbook: “stay sweet, have a great summer, your boyfriend’s really cute!” Cheers, all!

Alternatively

P.S. And I shall do you a favor: I won’t handwrite my details or you’d never be able to decipher them.

Welcome to the Steem community @alternatively!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and Peaklock,
  3. The owner password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
  7. Do Not open any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Steemians available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Have fun and happy Steeming!
