Achievement 3 by @boboyanky task:Content Etiquette
Good afternoon steemians
The glittering Sun rays spread various hues of shinny silvers and gold,I feel the breeze like I’m in paradise. This is how my afternoon feels, how is your afternoon steemian? Embrace each day at a time and see the treasure it unfolds.Today I unfold what I know about achievement 3 which is all about plagarism.
What is plagiarism
source
Plagarism is the act of copying someone’s work without his or her permission and not giving credit to the original author.People think it’s only with images but with text and quotes.A person who involves in the act is a plagiarist ,so a plagiarist makes the work of the original author appear as if he or she is the owner of the work.
•Complete Plagiarism
It is a severe type of plagiarism which is done when an author takes completely everything of the original author and summit it as he’s or her’s.I believe it is a serious offense
•Direct Plagiarism
It occurs when an author copies the work of another author sentence by sentence or word to word without citation
•Self Or Auto Plagiarism
It is done by duplicating your own previous work.passages, text, images or essays.
•Paraphrasing Plagiarism
It is done when an author changes words from an original author but the information still remains the same.
•Inaccurate Authorship
It occurs when an author forgets or fail to give all the necessary information in his source citation.
•Mosaic Plagiarism
It’s done by combining text from different sources without citation.which is very difficult to detect.
•Accidental plagiarism
It occurs when an author forgets to cite a source or gives out a wrong quote to the sources that he have copied then summit it as his own.
Plagiarism often occurs within students and this are some of the reasons they engage in it.
1.procrastination and laziness:
Most students are too lazy to create their own work ,they tend to always postpone their time to sit down and come up with a good content of their own.As the saying goes “procrastination is a thief of time”.This later leave them with little or no time to create an original and their only option left is to is to steal someone’s work.
2.Fear To Fail
Some people believe the only to come up with a good work is by stealing from others. They are usually influenced by the fear of failing if they don’t get a good grade.
3.Belief of not getting caught
Most students think they are too smart to be caught in the act. They go ahead in using others work with idea that nobody will never notice that they are using a plagiarized content.
1.Avoid procrastination
When you stop procrastinating you will get much time to make a quality content.
2.Always cite the source of any borrowed content.
3.Give credit to authors that you might have used their work.
Remarks
I learnt about steemit content etiquette from Steemit community and as I’m sharing my knowledge here for newbies to know their way around Steemit I’m gathering more courage and this will me to know the etiquettes at my finger tips
