Good morning Steemians it's a great privilege ones more and it has been a while....!
I'm here to do my achievement 3 task on the topic “PLAGIARISM”

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM

From the word Plagiarism, it could be defined as the act of copying someone's else's work as ur own without acknowledging the author.
Also when it comes to this kind of situation you are meant to use "Citation" because this method will help you know more about plagiarism and also when someone plagiarize....

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language,thoughts, ideals or expressions as one's own original work.

Plagiarism is presenting someone else's work idea as your own with or without their consent by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulation for examinations, intentional or reckless Plagiarism is a disciplinary offence.

  2. Cutting and pasting from internet without clear acknowledgment
  3. Paraphrasing

COMMON TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

~ Direct Plagiarism÷ is the word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else's work, without attribution and quotation marks.
~ Self Plagiarism÷ self plagiarism occurs when student submits his or her own previous work, without permission from all professors involved.
~ Mosaic Plagiarism÷ It's when a student/writer borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks, or find synonyms for the author's language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original. “patch writing”.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

  1. When you want to include an exact phrase or sentence or passage from a source use a quotation.
  2. When you want to express an idea or information from a source, paraphrase or summarize it in your own words.

    "Applying citation methods would help you avoid plagiarism and spam. If you're unable to apply these methods,it's best to stick with contents that proceeds out of your very own creativity/ideas and leave external materials alone".
    "Plagiarism is seen as abuse, a violation of copy write law towards the author too because you are not even giving acknowledgment to the original writer/author which is a very bad offense, taking credit for what's not yours.
    So it's advisable that if you are to write a content that isn't yours, your expected to use Quotation marks and also the source where you got your work to avoid any form of plagiarism that will lead to an offence of the law towards copy write."
