Achievement 6 Task by @khezcute : Understanding Curation and Community

Hello Steemian and Newcomer Community!

Wherever you are, I hope you are well and always given health, this post will continue the task of Achievement 6 on understanding Curation and Community.

In this assignment, I was asked to explain the extent to which I understand about Curation and Community as stated in “Achievement 6: Understanding Curation and Community” made by @cryptokannon so I will try to explain as I understand it.

1. Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?

Steemit is a platform where we write anything that suits our interests, every post or article we make can be voted on or commented on by other accounts.

The votes given for our posts contain rewards that can be disbursed into currency, so in addition to being able to share information, we can also make money, this valuable vote is then referred to as curation.

The value of each vote given varies, depending on how much Steem Power (SP) is owned by the account giving the vote, the greater the SP owned, the greater the vote given, the vote can be given within 7 days of posting or article published.

Not all of the votes or rewards we get (100%) are for us, this vote will be divided into 2, 50% for the curator (the term for the person who gave the vote) and another 50% for the author (the term for the person who made the post or article) ).

50% of the votes obtained by the author will also be divided into 2 again, namely 50% in the form of Steem Power (SP) and another 50% in the form of SBD which will enter our wallet after the payout period arrives, which is 7 days after we publish the post or our article.

2. What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?

Anyone can vote to vote, but keep in mind that when you want to vote on a post, it's best if the post has been published for more than 5 minutes, this is so that we as curators also get rewarded for voting.

Here's the calculation I quoted from @cryptokanon post:

• If a post is upvoted the moment of posting, 100% of the curation reward will remain in the rewards pool.
• At 1 minute, the curator receives 20%, and 80% remains in the rewards pool.
• At 2 minutes, the curator receives 40%, and 60% remains in the rewards pool.
• At 3 minutes, the curator receives 60%, and 40% remains in the rewards pool.
• At 4 minutes, the curator receives 80%, and 20% remains in the rewards pool.
• If a post is upvoted 5 minutes (or later) after posting, 100% of the curation reward goes to the curator.

3. Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?

I just joined this Steemit platform a few months ago, when I looked at the leaderboard of the witnesses and read the information from each witness, there were several reasons I chose them, and I think the reason they are all witnesses is good, and their goals are reasonable, and I'm glad to see this.

So the reason I chose this could be because I like their idea, and to me it makes sense.

4. Which community will you join in Steemit, and why?

For now, I just joined the “Newcomers' Community” and “Steemit Nursery”, and maybe more will be added over time because I'm new to this steemit and I haven't found a community that suits me.

The reason for joining the Newcomers' Community is because I am a new user, and still have a lot to learn about this platform, and this community really helped me to get to know this steemit platform better.

For Steemit Nursery, I am not yet active in this community, but I think this community is very suitable for newcomers like me, because we are free to post anything that interests us in this community, and it is possible that I will get a community that matches our interests I'm from here.
