Plagiarism/plagiarius: This is a word that comes from latin which means kidnap.
This is when someone uses/copy the work of another person without referencing the rightful source.

Plagiarism can also mean an intellectual theft, it is reckless or unintentional. Plagiarism can be a disciplinary offense and is punishable

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
There are different types of plagiarism and they are all serious violation of academic honesty.

DIRECT PLAGIARISM
This is the exact replication or copy of a persons work by another person. SELF PLAGIARISM
Self plagiarism is the reusing of of one work or ideal from their previously submitted work.

GLOBAL PLAGIARISM
Global plagiarism is the representation of an entire text by someone else as your own work.

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM
Combining text and ideas from different sources without reference or citation.

CONSEQUENCES OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is toxic in many ways, for students, industry, professionals and in the academic area, may find their career completely destroyed due to plagiarism and may be asked to step down from their current position/level.
The plagiarizer, he/she will loose the opportunity to truly gain new knowledge, improve writing skills and sharpen your thinking skill

HOW TO SAY NO TO PLAGIARISM

1.Always get permission or acknowledgement of the original author of the work

2.Kepp track of the sources you consult in your research

3.Use a plagiarism checker before you submit it

4.Credit the original author in a text citation and reference list
