Achievement 2 Task @signatory: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM

Good day fellow steemians, it is my pleasure to move past Achievement 1 stage and move to Achievement 2. I want to give a lot of thanks to @adylinah for her patience, assistance and grooming. At first when I was introduced to steemit, I saw it as very challenging, confusing and cumbersome but with perseverance and taking the time out to understand the dynamics and how to keep my information about my steemit account safe and private, it looks more like a piece of cake now. Steem has taught me to be security conscious and the security on steem is basically about the extent I can go to protect my steem account from being defrauded or stolen. First of all, I understand that I cannot trust anyone: friend or whoever with my passwords and so they must be exclusive to me and me alone.

HAVE YOU RETRIEVED ALL YOUR KEYS ON STEEMIT?
Yes, I have done exactly this. Immediately after signing up for steemit, I received my Master key. From what I have learnt so far, I now know why it is called the Master key. This is what I used to log into my steem wallet and retrieve all my other keys.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THESE KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS?
As a newbie I had to go through everything on the platform as much as I could. Going through the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), I discovered what each of these keys are used for:

Master key/password: this password can be used to generate other keys that will following in this listing. The Mater password is the first password you’ll get after signing up for steemit.

Posting key: with this key, you can comment on other people’s post, edit, make your own post, resteem and even follow others on this platform.

Owner key: this key can be used to reset all the other keys ad also used to get back an account that have been hacked.

Memo key: when transferring funds, this key helps to encrypt and decrypt messages.

Active key: this key is used when transfer is involved, conversion of steem dollar, updating profile details, power up/down, placing market order and also for witnesses voting.

HOW WOULD YOU KEEP YOUR MASTER KEY/PASSWORD SAFE AND SECURE?
Having not to over emphasize the importance of this key, IT IS A MUST KEEP SAFE KEY. So what I did is to write it down in my personal diary offline. I have also added it to my locked memo on my phone. Aside these, I have backed it up on my gmail account should I lose my phone or my diary.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS INVOLVED TO TRANSFER YOUR STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT?
It is simple:
Open your steemit account using your username and posting key
Click on your image on the top right
Just above the logout menu, there is WALLET, click on it

With your username and active key, login

Then click on the drop down arrow next to steem and tap on transfer

Type in the amount
Click next to confirm your transaction

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH THE STEPS TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM?
Yes, I do.
Powering up my steem is just converting my steem to steem power using the wallet environment. All I have to do is to click on the drop down arrow close to my total steem and select power up.

After that, I will have to put in the amount in the box and then click power up

I will look for more innovative ways to keep my account safe.
