Hello everyone I am by the name of @woka-hapoiness, and it pleases me to have you here. Also, a big thanks to you all for showing me some love on my posts so far. Today I am here to present my achievement 3 task, which is about plagiarism, after the successful completion of my achievement 2 task.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is simply the act of presenting someone else ideas or work as your own without their consent, like citing the source of the work. In other words, "plagiarism" is a crime that is frequently committed by students, lecturers, and even content writers.

In my opinion, the term "plagiarism" refers to the act of duplicating another person's words without citing or crediting the original author. Plagiarism is either intentional, unintentional, or an act of recklessness carried out by the plagiarizer.

It is in blogging that plagiarism is mostly common, where you would see another blogger post something that has already been posted by another blogger without giving credit to the original author.

As a Steemians we are plagarism is highly prohabited and shun by everyone most especially those that are curators, Admin and MODs. The best way for you, as a writer, is to quote and cite words, a write-up, or statements that are not your own.

According to the library guide for international students.

Plagiarism: presenting others' work without adequate acknowledgement of its source as though it were one’s own. Plagiarism is a form of fraud. We all stand on the shoulders of others, and we must give credit to the creators of the works that we incorporate into products that we call our own. source

From the definition above, we can see that plagiarism is when you copy and paste someone else's work as your own without acknowledging the author. Also, another definition of plagiarism is shown below.

According to Wikipedia,

Plagiarism is the fraudulent representation of another person's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. Source

Plagiarism, according to Wikipedia, is a criminal offense (a fraudulent act) that needs serious attention, which means as Steemians we should avoid it in any way we can.

Types of Plagiarism

There are different types of plagiarism, of which I have only talked about four.

Self-plagiarism

Self-plagiarism is the type of plagiarism in which a writer resubmits his or her own work. one reposting your work because it was a good write-up. For example, after participating in a contest, I still repost the same work in a similar contest.

Mosaic Plagiarism:

This is the type of plagiarism that happens when the writer makes use of someone else's phrase and forgets to quote or cite the original owner. Like in Steemit, when a Steemian uses another Steemian's statement without giving credit to the Steemian who first made the phrase,

Accidental Plagiarism:

This is the type of plagiarism that can happen to anyone when the person forgets to quote or reference the source of his or her work, misspells the source, or rewrites the source.

Direct Plagiarism:

This is the type of plagiarism where a user copies everything exactly as it is from another user without changing any words or statements.
