You're not good with poetry?
Instead you wrote us a story
that doesn't end with vowels,
nor with "both barrels".
You showed him mercy,
when he did plagiarise
you offered him to apologise
picturing his sunken eyes.
He did apologise, didn't he?
To you maybe, but did he,
to the community?
About the story though: I'm curious about how hard it is to recover from being flagged for plagiarism, concerning payouts, reputation and such.
"an error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it"
Haha, you're a poet!
So yeah, it can be difficult to come back from plagiarism here. We have a long memory. It's made worse by refusing to address it I think. Justifying it or lying about it is just as bad as doing it in the first place.
People forget that nothing is hidden on the blockchain and that someone is usually watching, especially once someone is exposed as a plagiarist.
Theres's no rules but for me a heartfelt apology will go a long way towards helping to redeem oneself...Then to never plagiarise again of course.
I'm not sure how things stand with that user but I distanced myself. Here on the chain guilty by association is a thing to some extent, as it is in the real world too. It's unlikely I'll follow that user again for various reasons however I'll keep an eye on them and my pointer on the downvote button for sure. Conversely, if they do the right thing I'll upvote. People need a chance to redress their errors.
In this particular case there are other extenuating circumstances that I'll not go into that relate to that association thing I mentioned. I hope that user goes in the right direction because if not their days are probably numbered as the community will address them.
I wouldn't say so... I just like words, I guess?
True that the blockchain isn't the best place to do such things and try to cover or deny them. It seems to me you had the best approach to the problem, perhaps you were too kind even. This said, I would never blame someone for being too kind.
It feels good to know people are watching.
Decentralized social media at works!
I think I may have been a little too soft on them, although my words were rather terse and I think they knew I was annoyed with them. Anyway, time will tell how that account goes from here and whether irreparable damage has been done.
