A mini bear in the hollow trend

in OCD5 years ago

This design has got to be my most popular. Carved my first one 5 years ago and have carved 100s of them in various sizes since. Almost to the point that I'm sick of carving them. Haha but I wont stop, they pay my bills. At $300 each, I shouldn't complain 🤪

Here is the smallest one I have carved. Eight inches tall.

This little guy fits in the palm of your hand.

Posted it on my Facebook business page and it sold within 5 minutes of posting it. In fact I had folks fighting over it. So I promised to carve more...

Here's a few cookies marked off, ready for carving.

Here's a few done ready for the next step.

And another...I try not to carve them exactly like each other so to keep them original.

Had to show you their cute little butts, haha that helps them sell believe it or not.

Also their soft look, almost pettable. Like a teddy bear.

Had a request for an owl in the hollow so I'll share that one as well.

Outstanding work!!! And with a chainsaw only????

Thank you @overkillcoin these smaller ones require hand tooling but on the larger pieces I can do most details with the saw

i used to muck around with carving when i was much younger... chisels and knives and such... rotary tool as well, but it never seemed to cut well, probably needed higher RPMs!
