Concerns about the witness cabal freezing accounts based on questionable subjective reasons seem to be justified. Who will be the next to have their funds frozen on Hive, and for what reason? There does not seem to be a clear ethical principles involved, just emotional reactions and madness of the crowd. It is a shame there is currently no option for a community that respects both private property and freedom of speech from the two options we have created.
I'm not sure there was that much subjectiveness to it. You voted for Sun's socks, you are on the list. I could be wrong but assume those were the 'simple' metrics used.
I would call that a subjective reason, but it wasn't that simple, they also included proxy votes and an arbitrary 1,000 SP cutoff, or at least it seems arbitrary because the reasoning and discussion behind this decision was not made public.
Not all proxy votes, just those who set their proxy to someone who voted for puppet witnesses.
