Sleeper Class #wednesdaywalk To An Indian Train Coach

in OCD5 years ago

Indis is a vast country to explore each and every corner. And travellers find different means to make their trip memorable by opting to travel to different parts. There are many backpackers who visit our country to explore the culture and tradition from its Root. And the best way, I believe is to get along with the locals easily. The more they mingle the more they enjoy.

From moving from one city to another is the only issue face by the backpackers. They find it difficult or it become very costly if they hire own vehicle. Being an Indian I personally feel, the most economical means of travelling within India is through Indian Railway. It is infact has the largest Rail Network of the world, with connecting facility to even the far corner of each and every corner of India. Be it Shorter or Longer, Indians love to board in Train, and it is quite easy to mingle with each other.

Most of Indian Rail provides you with 4 different of travelling.

  • General Class: used by people of daily commuters or the people having no reservation.

  • Sleeper Class: the most frequent to use, and having the maximum number of coaches in a Train. A normal coaches with open window

  • Third AC : a bit into luxury, offering AC to its passenger, alongwith blanket and sheet to use for journey.

  • Second AC : A bit more comfortable coaches with lessor seats rest having similar as Third AC.

There is another class called as First Class the most expensive of all. I heard it has seperate compartment but the price is equivalent to of Flight. Also I never boarded it.

To travel comfortably, one need to plan first and accordingly made their reservation in advance. Never try to wait till last moment as it would become quite hectic if you didn't get any kind of reservation.

Sleeper class, the most loved and economical of all train coaches has everything that may make your travel easy. Normally a train coach has 72 seats divided between 9 compartment. I.e 8 seats to each compartment. 6 on one side and 2 on the other, seperated by a passage in between.

The seats were enough to give a good rest to your body , unless if you have issue with moving and shaking bogies. There are 4 washroom in total, Set of 2 at each end of the compartment.
The toilets were Indian as well as western but always smelly and stinky.

The coaches were equiped with safety measure, including "Fire Extinguisher" in case of fire.

It has the facility to make you a feel like home. And have wash basin to wash hands, just at the entrance of the coach.

As these does not have AC, the Railway have installed Three Fans on the roof of each compartment (comprises of 8 seats) to make your summer journey bit respiteful alongwith lights for night.

There is connecting passage between two coaches, that allow you to move within the different coaches without much difficulty.

Except in case of AC coaches whose gate get closed after 11PM.

Indian Railway have a Red look outside, whereas completelly Blue from inside. It has Blue cover on the seats and White lighting. Giving a perfect set up for nice travel experience.

Overall, It passes through all the cleanliness measure except for the Toilet which gets bit dirty due to frequent usage by the 72 or more passengers. In case you may opt to travel by Sleeper class, do take these into consideration before boarding for a longer journey.

AC coaches is nothing different except packed windows and running AC. And the Fare just double of the normal Sleeper class.

As I am travelling today in one of the Sleeper class, I found its good to share something from Inside the train, for #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay.

Stay Calm....

Keep Steeming...Steem On !!!
